On October 24, renowned rapper Lil Durk was arrested in Florida, facing allegations of plotting to murder the individual believed to be responsible for the death of his friend, King Von. According to Fox 5 San Diego’s report on October 25, the indictment released post-arrest states:
“Co-Conspirator 1 indicated through coded language that a bounty would be offered as a reward, and/or financial compensation would be provided to anyone involved in killing [Quando Rondo] for his participation in [King Von’s] murder.”
Following the release of this news, social media users flocked to X to mock Lil Durk, referencing the term “Tejadas.”As noted by Vibe in their October 4 article, this year marked Durk’s acting debut in Power Book II: Ghost, portraying a relative of the drug-running Tejada family.
In the wake of the rapper’s arrest, many on X were quick to draw parallels between the Tejadas and his on-screen role. Some users suggested that Durk may be unable to separate from his character, while others insinuated that he must have had negative interactions with the family.
“As soon as Lil Durk started messing with the Tejadas, he got picked up by the Feds,” one user commented.
“Lil Durk must’ve genuinely believed he was Cane Tejada’s cousin the way he tried to vanish,” another user added.
“Wow, so Lil Durk is in custody for that move involving the Tejadas,” remarked a third user.
Others joined in on the jokes, suggesting the rapper’s interactions with the “Tejadas” led to his current predicament.

Tariq found himself collaborating with Monet Tejada, the matriarch of a drug organization run by her family. Monet stepped into leadership after her husband, Lorenzo, went to prison.
In Power Book II: Ghost, Monet Stewart Tejada plays a crucial role as she heads the Tejada drug operation alongside her children, Cane, Dru, and Diana.
She also harbors a secret son, Zeke Cross, a prominent athlete who has been kept away from the drug scene. Lorenzo Yandel Tejada, the successful businessman of the family, also serves as Zeke’s stepfather.
Furthermore, Bronze, the character portrayed by Durk, is a supporting figure in the fourth season of Power Book II: Ghost. He serves as a cousin to the Tejada siblings and appears in several episodes, aiding them in their quest for vengeance using automatic weapons, silencers, and other firearms.
