MC Livinho: Music Artist Faces Backlash for Dancing Behind Reporter During Tragic Bus Crash Coverage

MC Livinho, a prominent Brazilian music artist, has ignited significant anger after a video emerged of him dancing in the background of a live news report regarding a tragic accident. In the social media clips, MC Livinho is visible dancing behind RJTV reporter Isabela, who was covering a fatal bus accident in Serra das Araras, Rio de Janeiro.

According to Globo, the news channel swiftly terminated the live feed upon noticing MC Livinho’s actions, switching to footage of the accident while the journalist continued her commentary off-camera.

This unfortunate incident involved a bus carrying athletes from the Coritiba Crocodiles football team, which flipped over, resulting in the loss of three lives: Daniel Santos, Lucas de Castro Rodrigues Barros, and Lucas Padilha. The bus was occupied by 43 passengers along with 2 drivers.

MC Livinho, who boasts over 13 million followers on Instagram, is a well-known singer originally from São Paulo, Brazil. In response to the widespread backlash, MC Livinho took to Instagram Stories to clarify his stance. He claimed he was unaware that a live report on the accident and fatalities was occurring. He remarked:

“Everyone was saying that an accident had happened and here we are, stuck in traffic. I didn’t know that an accident had occurred. Anyone who watched the first ‘Mom, I’m on Globo’ knows that I didn’t know anything either, I asked for an opportunity to give an interview and then I found out it was an accident.”

He further added:

“Out of respect, I took the video down. I hope you understand. And I’m not going to stop being a reviewer.”

Additionally, he extended condolences to the families affected by the tragedy, stating:

“I would like to express my condolences for the loss you suffered. Now that I’ve gone online and seen that it was an accident. My condolences to everyone.”

In the wake of this disaster, several individuals are currently fighting for their lives. The injured were promptly transported to General Hospital of Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense, and São João Batista Hospital in Volta Redonda, as reported by The Sun. Furthermore, the match that was supposed to take place in Rio de Janeiro was canceled following the incident.

After the tragedy, the Coritiba Crocodiles team issued a heartfelt statement honoring the deceased athletes. The statement expressed:

“Our hearts are heavy with grief, and we ask everyone to send their prayers and positive energy. In the face of this tragedy, all our efforts are focused on supporting the team members and their loved ones.”
