Maya Henry Alleges Liam Payne Used Death as a Manipulation Tactic: “He Would Always Play with Death”

Recent comments made by Maya Henry, former girlfriend of singer Liam Payne, have gained significant attention following his tragic passing. During an episode of The Internet Is Dead> podcast that aired on October 14, Maya, who was in a relationship with Liam from 2018 to 2022, revealed:

“He would always message me ever since we broke up [saying], ‘Oh, I’m not well. He would always play with death and be like, ‘Well, I’m going to die. I’m not doing well.’”

The 23-year-old described his actions as a form of “manipulation” aimed at eliciting sympathy from her despite their separation.

On October 16, the 31-year-old Liam Payne tragically died in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after falling from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. Authorities have yet to perform an autopsy, but initial reports suggest he may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident.

Maya Henry’s Viral Podcast Interview Following Liam Payne’s Untimely Death

In her podcast appearance, Maya discussed how she had reached out to help Payne, but he rejected her offers. She noted that he contacted her mother, asking her to persuade Maya to talk to him as he was feeling “unwell.”

“It’s just always the same cycle,” Maya expressed.

This year, it was reported that Payne had contacted Henry’s mother, suggesting he wouldn’t “be around much longer.”

“I don’t play with death. If you say this, I’m going to try and help you no matter what you’ve done. I think he took advantage of my family’s kindness,” Maya added.

Furthermore, she claimed that Payne’s acquaintances urged her to refrain from publishing her fictional book, Moving Forward, which draws inspiration from their relationship, warning it could adversely impact the singer’s mental health.

“He would always just say, ‘I’m so sorry for everything I’ve done. I can’t live with myself,’ but then continues to try and traumatize me,” Maya Henry mentioned.

In addition, Maya took to TikTok, where she alleged that Liam was stalking her, stating:

“Ever since we broke up, he messages me, blows up my phone… always different phone numbers. He’ll create new iCloud accounts to message me. He’s always the one that is constantly doing weird s**t.”

Before Liam’s unfortunate death, Maya had served him a cease-and-desist order in an effort to stop him from contacting her family and friends.

In 2021, Payne had been candid about his struggles with alcohol and prescription drug abuse, sharing that he hit “rock bottom” while on tour, experiencing “suicidal ideation.” After his death, a source informed Page Six:

“Liam had been cycling through periods of ruinous behavior for a long time. He was open about his struggles but tried to downplay them at times. His demons were much worse than he let on.”

Surviving Liam Payne is his seven-year-old son, Bear, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend and Girls Aloud member Cheryl.
