Niles made the decision to travel to Ghana for their first in-person meeting. While Matilda hoped for a wedding by the end of his trip, Niles expressed that he wasn’t yet prepared for that step. In Episode 4, he communicated to her that he needed more time, suggesting:
“OK, we’re all super duper excited. But we only do this once, right? We’re only going to have this one wedding, so you know what that means. We might need a little bit more. To plan that out.”

During 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 7 Episode 4, Niles reached out to Matilda via FaceTime to discuss postponing their wedding plans. He started the conversation by sharing his enthusiasm for visiting Ghana and expressed how much he missed her, stating they wouldn’t have to feel that way anymore once he arrived.
“It’s busy, a lot is happening. I’ve missed you a lot, too. And soon enough, we won’t have to miss each other like this,”Niles shared.
Matilda eagerly responded, expressing her excitement to welcome him at the airport and showering him with affection, declaring him the “best in the world”for her:
“I can’t wait to see you at the airport. To hug my babe. To kiss you. And I’m gonna treat you like a King, because you are my King… You are the best in the world.”
Matilda also revealed that she had been making elaborate preparations for their wedding, telling Niles that everyone she knew was excited about their upcoming nuptials.
“I’ve been telling my friends about our wedding. My neighbors, my mom’s friends, my church members, and everybody is happy,”Matilda stated.
Despite Matilda’s enthusiasm, Niles appeared uncertain when the topic of their wedding arose. He seemed reluctant to rush into marriage, expressing the importance of taking more time to plan this significant life event perfectly.
However, Matilda was not open to delaying their wedding plans, insisting:
“I want us to have our wedding at the end of your trip. We’re gonna have our wedding, yeah? I hope you will not disappoint me.”
Ultimately, Niles recognized in his confessional that this discussion would need to be had in person, deciding to address the wedding plans further when he met Matilda face-to-face.
