Maxsun is gearing up to unveil a new triple-fan graphics processing unit (GPU), likely the Arc B580, coinciding with Intel’s announcement of its Battlemage series on December 3rd.
Maxsun’s Upcoming Triple-Fan GPU: Get Ready for a Game-Changer!
Following in the footsteps of other manufacturers like ASRock and GUNNIR, the Chinese PC hardware company Maxsun is set to showcase its custom Intel Battlemage GPU on December 3rd. This date marks Intel’s official launch of the Battlemage Xe2-based discrete graphics cards, alongside other customization options from Intel’s board partners.
While Intel’s network of board partners is somewhat limited, it has retained its collaborations with those who previously contributed to the Arc Alchemist graphics cards. Although Maxsun may not be a household name in the GPU market, it has successfully sold its graphics cards, including the well-received Radeon RX 580, on platforms like Amazon. The company’s product lineup also includes motherboards, memory, and storage solutions, but its primary recognition comes from its affordable GPUs.
The Arc B580, advertised with a striking triple-fan layout and a sleek black shroud, is the latest entry in Maxsun’s GPU catalog. While early specifications have been hinted at, the GPU’s core clock speed is yet to be confirmed; it is anticipated that this card could reach clock speeds exceeding 2.8 GHz, especially if factory overclocked. A stock version will likely still push close to this max boost clock.
At this time, details regarding the number of display outputs and the power connectors (whether single or dual 8-pin) remain undisclosed. However, given that ASRock’s B580 Steel Legend features a similar triple-fan configuration with dual 8-pin connectors, it stands to reason that Maxsun’s variant may follow suit. Utilizing dual 8-pin connectors enables higher power consumption during overclocking, where a single 8-pin connector typically provides up to 150W in addition to 75W from the PCI-E x16 slot.
In parallel, Intel is working on another Battlemage offering, the Arc B570, though specifics remain scarce. The only detail available is that ASRock has developed a Challenger series card that will feature a 10 GB capacity, equipped with 18 Xe2 cores and capable of reaching speeds up to 2.6 GHz. It’s anticipated that Intel and its AIB partners may unveil both the B580 and B570 simultaneously or stagger the launch of the latter at a later date.
