Since her introduction in 2015, Lunella Lafayette, the brilliant Inhuman hero, has captivated readers and even garnered her own animated series.

Exciting Developments in the Special Issue
The upcoming special issue is penned by Brandon Montclare, who co-created Lunella, alongside artist Natacha Bustos. The oversized comic promises an entertaining storyline featuring the mischievous Impossible Man, who threatens to disrupt Lunella’s festive celebration. Additionally, fans can look forward to a bonus story from Justina Ireland and Luca Claretti, introducing the enigmatic pair known as “Devil Girl and Moon Dino.”

Lunella Lafayette: A Young Hero’s Journey
Lunella Lafayette, a 9-year-old soon-to-be 10, is a Haitian-American with Inhuman heritage, her latent powers activated by Terrigen Mist. While often regarded as “the smartest person in the world”— a title given by Amadeus Cho — her intelligence is sometimes debated with icons like Reed Richards or Valeria Richards. It’s crucial to note that Lunella’s remarkable intellect stems from her human genes; her Inhuman abilities enable her to communicate and share consciousness with Devil Dinosaur.
As part of her growth as a hero, Lunella has been honing her skills at the Avengers Academy, alongside young heroes such as Bloodline, Kid Juggernaut, and Red Goblin. With her 10th birthday approaching, fans can anticipate appearances from various Marvel heroes, such as Spider-Man and Captain America, who have shared adventures with her in the past. But Lunella will need to employ her intellect to outsmart the reality-bending Impossible Man before her celebration can proceed.
Introducing Devil Girl and Moon Dino
In addition to the exciting plots, readers will meet two new characters: Devil Girl and her pterodactyl-like companion, Moon Dino. According to writer Justina Ireland, “And I can’t wait for readers to discover Lunella’s descendant, Devil Girl and her laser-eyed, flying blue dino! You can’t miss this special!!”
The anniversary special will also showcase artwork by Anand Ramcheron, paying homage to the original cover of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur from 2015. The design reveals that Moon Dino features “laser eyes, ”providing fans a glimpse into the future of Lunella’s legacy.
