Marvel Rivals Unveils Psylocke and Hints at Upcoming Moon Knight Announcement

The newest addition to the Marvel Rivals roster is Psylocke, the lethal assassin from the X-Men franchise. Her extraordinary powers and unique design have been showcased in a fresh trailer released by developer NetEase Games. Additionally, a teaser hints at the next character poised to join this highly anticipated hero shooter: the long-awaited Moon Knight.

Here’s everything you need to know about Psylocke in Marvel Rivals and the upcoming arrival of Moon Knight.

Psylocke enters the multi-dimensional battlefield of Marvel Rivals wielding her iconic katana. She possesses the ability to turn invisible, which allows her to gain the upper hand against her adversaries. Much like Genji from Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch, she can unleash a rapid series of attacks that deal significant damage to her opponents.

Originally known as the X-Men character Betsy Braddock, this version of Psylocke isn’t represented by her but rather by Sai, an alternate reality incarnation introduced in Demon Days: X-Men. This choice fits well within the game’s lore, where heroes and villains battle across different dimensions to thwart Doctor Doom and his 2099 counterpart from conquering.

Psylocke’s design reflects this reality twist, drawing inspiration from Peach Momoko‘s vibrant take on the character, complete with vivid purple tones. She will be classified as a Duelist in the game upon its release later this year.

But that’s not all. The trailer concluded with a teaser for another character set to join the fray. The final shot showcases a full moon with a fleeting glimpse of a caped hero’s silhouette, heavily implying that the iconic white-clad crimefighter Moon Knight will make his entrance soon. A full reveal is anticipated before the game launches later in 2024.

Marvel Rivals will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on December 6, 2024, as a free-to-play title.
