Marvel Rivals Event: Fortune, Colors, and Rewards Guide

Marvel Rivals Event: Fortune, Colors, and Rewards Guide

Marvel Rivals is set to host a unique, limited-time event known as Fortune & Colors, offering players exciting opportunities to collect free rewards through participation in a brand-new gameplay mode. In celebration of the Spring Festival, this event features an array of exclusive cosmetics that players can earn at no cost. As with previous events, players will need to accomplish specific objectives to unlock all the available rewards during Fortune & Colors.

Similarities abound between the Fortune & Colors event and the ongoing primary event from Season 1, known as Midnight Features. Just like its predecessor, the new event will likely be organized into tiers that players complete by fulfilling various missions. Both events promise unique character skins as their standout rewards.

Marvel Rivals Fortunes & Colors Spring Festival event with start time listed

The Fortune & Colors event is scheduled to commence on January 23, 2025, and conclude on February 14, 2025. This celebration falls mid-way through Season 1, coinciding with the anticipated introduction of iconic characters like the Human Torch and The Thing, expected to join their Fantastic Four companions.

Players will enjoy several weeks of engagement, as they can log into the game whenever they choose. However, it’s important to note that a mandatory update will take place on January 22, 2025, to apply a patch featuring significant bug fixes and adjustments to some character attributes. This update mirrors the extensive Season 1 patch previously rolled out in Marvel Rivals, aimed at refining various character abilities and eliminating known issues.

It’s crucial to highlight that the bug fixes implemented in the January 22 patch do not enhance or diminish any characters’ abilities. Instead, they address specific gameplay issues, such as the interactions between skills and destructible environments, in-game movement mechanics, or various character transformations.

Furthermore, players should be aware that the start and end dates for Fortune & Colors may not apply to event skins available in the Store. Similar to prior events, including the Winter Festival, certain themed skins are likely to remain purchasable long after the Spring Festival wraps up. However, bundles for these skins will eventually disappear, unlike cosmetics attached to various Battle Passes.

At the heart of the Fortune & Colors event lies the new Clash of Dancing Lions mode, a spirited soccer/football-inspired gameplay format where two teams, each consisting of three players, strive to outscore one another. Players can take on the roles of Star-Lord, Iron Fist, and Black Widow as they aim to secure the highest number of goals in dynamic, competitive matches that demand teamwork and strategic coordination.

For those familiar with the “Jeff’s Wintery Splash”event in Marvel Rivals, the reward system in Fortune & Colors will look exceptionally similar. Players must complete missions to gather a unique resource called Danqing, which in turn colors a vibrant illustration. This mirrors the gold and silver frost currency collection method used during the winter event, aiming to complete a special postcard.

The quantity of Danqing players acquire will likely correlate with specific missions they undertake in the Clash of Dancing Lions mode, such as scoring goals as Iron Fist to earn this magical dye. Danqing can be exchanged for two primary rewards:

  • Clash of Dancing Lions Gallery Card
  • Lion’s Mane (Star-Lord Skin)

The highlight of this event is the opportunity to unlock a new skin for Star-Lord absolutely free. Much like the free skin awarded for Jeff the Land Shark in the previous event, players will need to fill in different segments of the Clash of Dancing Lions illustration using their accumulated Danqing to complete the skin bundle. This process involves earning a nameplate, emote, spray, and ultimately, the skin itself by progressing through the different reward tiers.

It’s important to note that the Clash of Dancing Lions mode does not offer Black Widow or Iron Fist skins tied directly to the Fortune & Colors event, as these can only be acquired through in-game unit purchases or lattice in the Marvel Rivals Store.

Players may find opportunities to earn Danqing by completing goals in other modes, including Quick Play or against AI opponents. While it is not strictly necessary to participate in the Clash of Dancing Lions mode to earn all rewards within the Fortune & Colors Spring Festival event in Marvel Rivals, this new mode presents the quickest way to collect rewards.
