- Speculations indicate that the upcoming Krakoa map may be revealed in Marvel Rivals, stemming from hints in the current Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure event.
- Fans are buzzing about a potential countdown timer that suggests new game content related to the Krakoa map.
The latest discussions surrounding Marvel Rivals suggest that a new map could soon be introduced, even though there hasn’t been an official announcement yet. The game currently features over a dozen maps utilized across its various modes, and it appears Krakoa, the living island, may be next in line.
The Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure Event launched on March 7 and runs until April 11, providing players with the opportunity to collect numerous rewards, such as a special Mrs. Barnes Black Widow skin, sprays, and nameplates. Participants engage with a board-game-inspired landscape that includes six diverse regions, each representing an existing map from Marvel Rivals. To earn in-game rewards, players utilize Galacta’s Power Cosmic as currency to roll dice and move around the board.
A notable observation among some players is a seventh section on the game board, which many speculate could reference Krakoa. This former adversarial territory of the X-Men, now a sanctuary for mutants, features a path that does not cross the central region of the board, which showcases an image of floating rocks with flat tops. One of these rocks displays a mini-image of the event map, while the other is partially concealed by darkness and a question mark, accompanied by a countdown timer hinting at an impending revelation. Reddit user BakeMate and other gamers believe this timer hints at the imminent addition of the Krakoa map, with substantial player-generated evidence suggesting this theory as well.

Participation in Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure may yield more than just rewards; it might also provide hints towards the unveiling of Krakoa. One of the collectible sprays, named Damaged Cerebro, features a depiction of the headset utilized by Professor Charles Xavier and other telepathic members of his esteemed X-Men team. This headset has undergone various design changes over time, with players noting that the version depicted in the spray corresponds to that worn by Xavier in Krakoa.

Furthermore, additional hints point toward Krakoa based on dialogue from characters within the game. A notable example comes from Doctor Doom during the Eternal Night Falls event earlier this year, where he mentions attending a gala—speculated to reference the Hellfire Gala from the comics that took place in Krakoa in 2021. Players have also noticed that characters like Wolverine, Scarlet Witch, and Magneto have alluded to the living island in their dialogues since the game’s inception.
