In Marvel Rivals, players will encounter three distinct types of currencies, each serving different purposes within the game. Among these, Units stand out as the most frequently utilized form of currency.
Units serve as the universal currency in Marvel Rivals and can be used to unlock exciting new skins for your favorite heroes, as well as to purchase various store bundles and individual cosmetic items. Notably, Units cannot be bought with real money, unlike the Lattice currency. Consequently, players must find alternative methods to accumulate this valuable currency.
This restriction comes with an advantage: Units are entirely free to earn! Below, we’ll explore multiple ways to accumulate Units in Marvel Rivals.
Ways to Acquire More Units in Marvel Rivals
Players can earn Units through three primary methods, each of which is free of charge. However, it is worth noting that, technically, Units can also be purchased using real money.
1. Complete Achievements
One of the primary ways to earn Units is by completing in-game Achievements. To find the Achievements section, navigate to the main menu and click on the present icon in the top-right corner. Here, you can access the Achievements tab and review the progress of each section by selecting the new present icon.
Currently, there are four distinct Achievement sections available. By accomplishing tasks within these sections, you can earn Units along with other currencies and cosmetic rewards. For instance, one section grants you 100 Units for every 40 Achievement Points accumulated.
As you progress through the tasks, remember to click the “Claim All” button to ensure your Achievement Points are added to your total. If you have achieved sufficient points for a reward, it will automatically reflect in your account. Engaging with various heroes while playing will enable you to complete a multitude of achievements, resulting in a steady influx of Units for character customization.
2. Finish Battle Pass Tiers
Another method to gain Units is by progressing through the Battle Pass tiers. Head to the “Season” tab to view the current Battle Pass and see which page you’re currently on. Each page comes with an allocated number of Units for each tier you successfully unlock.
Tiers can be unlocked by spending 200 Chrono Tokens, another in-game currency. Once you unlock a tier that offers Units, those Units are promptly credited to your account. While the Luxury Battle Pass yields more Units compared to the free version, both options grant access to the same currency.
Though the total number of Units awarded by the Battle Pass may not be extensive, they are free to collect as long as you put in the required gameplay hours to complete it. Maximizing your efforts in the Battle Pass is recommended, especially since Season 0 offers a total of 300 Units, with projections indicating an increase in Season 1.
3. Convert Lattice to Units
The final method for acquiring Units involves converting any pre-purchased Lattice you own. This conversion operates at a straightforward 1:1 ratio, meaning that each unit of Lattice can be transformed into one Unit.
For perspective, Lattice is priced at $1 for every 100 units, so if you wish to buy a store bundle costing 2,000 Units, you would need to spend $20 on Lattice and convert it for the equivalent Units. This decision ultimately depends on the player’s preferences.
Once you opt to convert Lattice to Units, the action cannot be reversed. In essence, you are trading one form of currency for another to facilitate the purchase of cosmetic items. To convert Lattice, navigate to the main menu, locate the blue Units icon at the top-right corner, and adjust the slider according to the amount of Lattice you wish to convert. Then, click the yellow button to complete the transaction.
Keep in mind that your conversion is contingent upon the amount of Lattice available in your inventory. If you need to acquire additional Lattice for conversion, you can access the yellow coin icon in the top-right corner to buy either smaller quantities or more extensive bundles.
