The inaugural episode of Making it in Marbella was released on Netflix on October 2, 2024. This exciting addition to Netflix’s real estate series spotlights the lives of Marbella’s Homerun Brokers, who are determined to sell luxurious properties to affluent clients along Spain’s stunning coast.
In Episode 1, viewers were introduced to the core members of the Homerun Brokers team. They faced a significant challenge trying to sell a €9,950,000 property that had been on the market for over five months, and the pressure was on to close the deal. Eric Ebbing assigned the listing to Robert Bazo and promised a promotion if he could successfully complete the sale.

Introducing Homerun Brokers
Episode 1 of Making it in Marbella kicked off with an introduction to the Homerun Brokers. The company’s founder, Eric Ebbing, explained the core operations of Homerun Brokers, stating in his confessional:
“We buy, sell, and rent luxury real estate to everyone from affluent Swedes to influencers and sports stars, all along the Costa del Sol in Spain.”
Eric’s wife, Jennifer Rocamora, who is the Head of Marketing, humorously referred to herself as the “real boss”of the organization. Eric noted that he typically generated the ideas, while Jennifer brought them to life.
The episode also introduced Matías Concha, a partner and property broker at Homerun Brokers, who previously played football. He discussed his transition from sports to real estate, highlighting the perks of living in Marbella, which offers an abundance of attractions from beach clubs to art galleries.
Another key figure introduced was Miah van de Bilt, the third partner who also works as a property broker. She confidently claimed to have “sold the most expensive properties at Homerun”.
As the episode progressed, it became evident that the agents were concerned about Robert Bazo, the Business Expansion Manager, and his work ethic. Robert asserted his ambition to take over Homerun Brokers, claiming that his efforts were for the betterment of the company.
Damla Yaraman, the rental broker, shared her empowering story of overcoming a tough life, stating that it had made her stronger and more resilient in her career.
Villa Olivia and Casa Jaguar Listings
The first prime listing highlighted in Episode 1 was Villa Olivia. Eric, Matías, and Miah convened at the villa to strategize its sale.
Villa Olivia features six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, covering a sizable area of 1076 sqm. The property is listed at €9,950,000 (approximately $10,547,000 USD), with a substantial commission of €597,000 (roughly $632,820 USD).
At the beginning of Episode 1, Eric emphasized the urgency of selling Villa Olivia, as it had lingered on their listings for five months without much interest from potential buyers.
Eric decided to trust the listing to Robert, considering him one of their top brokers. He promised Robert a promotion and a position in the management team if he could finalize the sale.
However, Miah was not pleased with this decision due to her ongoing feud with Robert. Determined to take charge, she proactively sought to sell the property herself but arrived too late, as Robert successfully closed the deal first.
In another plotline, Robert was also working on his own listing for Casa Jaguar, a property featuring four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a total area of 550 sqm. Casa Jaguar is priced at €5,000,000 (about $5,250,000 USD), with a commission of €300,000 (around $318,000 USD).
