Manon Fiorot and two others taken to hospital after UFC Atlantic City

According to reports, Manon Fiorot, along with two other athletes, were taken to a hospital after competing in the UFC Atlantic City fight card. Fiorot was the main event at the UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA on Saturday, March 30, 2024, where she faced America’s Erin Blanchfield in a five-round women’s flyweight fight. As a prominent French MMA fighter, Fiorot has gained a strong reputation in the sport.

At just 24 years old, Blanchfield is recognized as one of the most promising up-and-coming talents in the MMA world. She was heavily favored to defeat 34-year-old Fiorot.

Despite this, Fiorot’s technical striking and versatile MMA skills allowed her to outperform Blanchfield in their five-round fight. Ultimately, the judges unanimously declared Fiorot the winner with a score of 50-45 in all three rounds.

At UFC Atlantic City, there were many exciting matchups, including a highly anticipated rematch between Ibo Aslan and Anton Turkalj. Previously, in August 2020, Turkalj had defeated Aslan by second-round submission at Brave CF 40. However, their second encounter at UFC Atlantic City was a thrilling battle, and this time it was Aslan who emerged victorious with a third-round TKO.

According to a report by MMA Mania, three fighters who participated in UFC Atlantic City were taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure following the event. The fighters in question were Manon Fiorot, Ibo Aslan, and Anton Turkalj.

According to reports, ‘The Beast’ sustained an arm injury during her main event match. The specific round and sequence in which the injury occurred is currently unknown. She is currently undergoing a CT scan of her arm, face, and head at the hospital in order to determine the extent of her injury, specifically if she has a broken forearm.

As a precaution, Turkey’s Ibo Aslan will have a CT scan of his face and head. In the meantime, Sweden’s Anton Turkalj will have CT scans of his legs, face, and head.

Manon Fiorot Makes Case for Title Shot with Dominant Win at UFC Atlantic City

Despite starting with a loss in her professional MMA debut, Manon Fiorot has been undefeated ever since, achieving an impressive MMA record of 12-1. Additionally, ‘The Beast’ has yet to experience defeat in the UFC and has recently secured a dominant victory over Erin Blanchfield.

Fiorot recognized Blanchfield’s strength during her post-match interview with Michael Bisping at UFC Atlantic City, but she mentioned that it did not come as a shock to her.

Through a translator, Manon Fiorot made a strong case for a UFC women’s flyweight title opportunity. Currently, the UFC has scheduled a TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) Season 32 showdown between current flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and former champion Valentina Shevchenko. It is anticipated that the highly anticipated Grasso-Shevchenko trilogy title fight will take place later this year.

Bisping referenced this in his post-fight interview in the octagon. Despite this, Fiorot stressed that she has defeated every flyweight contender that has stood in her way and is worthy of a title opportunity. ‘The Beast’ stated:

“I take one, the other; everyone. I’m ready. No matter what, I want my title shot.”

Take a look at what Fiorot had to say at the 0:40 mark in the video:
