Major Transformations in Microsoft Game Pass Quests and Rewards System

Major Transformations in Microsoft Game Pass Quests and Rewards System

Overview of Game Pass Rewards System Updates

  • Beginning January 7, a new Quests feature will roll out for PC users, allowing gamers aged 18 and older to earn rewards.
  • Game Pass will implement daily, weekly, and monthly earning opportunities, coupled with the reinstatement of Xbox Game Pass weekly streaks.
  • Players can explore a variety of games and accumulate rewards by engaging with each title for a minimum of 15 minutes, though it is important to note that those under 18 will not be eligible for these new features.

Microsoft is set to enhance the Xbox Game Pass experience by introducing compelling new ways for players to earn points and rewards, specifically with the launch of Quests for PC players. This initiative is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to promote age-appropriate gaming experiences, restricting Game Pass Rewards to individuals 18 years and older.

The Xbox Game Pass service grants subscribers access to an extensive library of games on both Xbox consoles and Windows PCs for a monthly subscription fee. Different tiers of membership come with varying benefits, including the opportunity to engage with Quests and earn Rewards through specific in-game tasks. As of January 7, these exciting changes aim to broaden player engagement on the PC platform.

As detailed in a recent update on Xbox Wire, Quests will now be accessible not only to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscribers but also to PC Game Pass users. This will offer an enriched method for these players to collect points. However, be aware that earning points requires a minimum amount of playtime, and Quests are limited to titles available in the Game Pass catalog—third-party games using different launchers won’t qualify.

New Quests and Rewards System Features

  • Quests will launch for PC Game Pass members starting January 7.
  • New opportunities include:
    • Daily Play: Earn 10 points by playing any Game Pass title for at least 15 minutes each day.
    • Weekly Streaks: Engage in gaming at least five days a week to build a streak. The more consecutive days you play, the greater the point multipliers—doubling your points for two-week streaks, tripling them for three weeks, and quadrupling them for streaks of four or more weeks.
    • Monthly 4-Pack: Explore the catalog by playing four different titles (for a minimum of 15 minutes each) monthly.
    • Monthly 8-Pack: Challenge yourself further by playing eight unique games (again, for at least 15 minutes each) each calendar month—the four titles from your 4-Pack will also count towards your 8-Pack.
  • PC Weekly Bonus: Players will receive 150 points for playing at least 15 minutes for five or more days in a week.

The revamped Quest system allows gamers a variety of pathways to earn rewards through daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. The return of weekly streaks incentivizes players to maintain their gaming activity to amplify their rewards. Additionally, the capability to earn points daily encourages players to explore a wide array of Game Pass titles, ultimately enriching their gaming journey.

Weekly PC Bonus Announcement

For members aged 18 and above, the new PC weekly bonus program offers an exciting way to earn additional points by playing daily for at least 15 minutes over five days. Microsoft emphasizes its focus on creating a more appropriate gaming environment, ensuring that benefits are only extended to players 18 and older. Therefore, younger gamers’ only option for earning rewards remains through parentally approved purchases of eligible items on the Microsoft store. These recent enhancements illustrate Microsoft’s commitment to enriching the gaming experience for its subscribers.
