Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is poised to elevate its colorful, action-packed gameplay through two forthcoming updates flooded with innovative features. Fans of the beloved franchise may not have seen a new series in 2024, but they were delighted with a nostalgic nod to classic side-scrolling beat’em-ups in this title. Set against the backdrop of a plot intertwined with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always special released on Netflix in 2023, players step into the roles of the original ‘teenagers with attitude’ as they confront the nefarious Robo-Rita.

Since its launch on December 10, developer Digital Eclipse has actively engaged in enhancing the player experience for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind. Following its debut, the first update, which arrived shortly thereafter, applied essential adjustments to player movement and refined the 3D Zord and Megazord sequences, along with modifications to Time Disruptor challenges.

Highlights of the February 2025 Update for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind

Upgradeable Rangers: This new skill point system allows for enhancements in strength, defense, and speed for each Ranger, providing fans with the opportunity to create their ideal character builds.
Morphers: These unique modifiers can alter game elements such as gravity and speed. Fans can also opt to experience the game as it was during launch, maintaining balanced capabilities across all Rangers, adding an entertaining twist to gameplay.
Power Blast: In a pinch against Robo-Rita’s minions? The Power Blast ability can knock foes back, sacrificing a portion of your health to turn the tide in intense skirmishes.
Ground Recovery: A well-timed button press allows players who have been knocked down to recover and rejoin the battle swiftly, maintaining the game’s fast-paced rhythm.

The initial update is set to be launched for PC and consoles within the week, with a Nintendo Switch version expected soon after. The subsequent update in spring will introduce new multiplayer functionalities, enabling up to six players to collaborate across different consoles. Notably, these enhancements will be included in the upcoming physical edition of Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind, scheduled for release on May 30.

Upon its initial release, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind garnered a varied reception. However, subsequent updates have effectively addressed several issues noted by gamers, leading to a more polished experience.
