MacBook Air with M2 – new information and new renders

A few months ago, presenter John Prosser provided a lot of information on what the new MacBook Air with M2 will look like due out in 2022. Now there is new interesting information and additional renders showing the appearance of the upcoming computer.

MacBook Air with M2 (2022)

According to Prosser informants, the new MacBook Air will be heavily redesigned: the characteristic design with variable thickness of the lower part of the case will disappear – the new version will have the same thickness along the entire length of the MacBook Pro. The laptop also needs to be “incredibly thin”.

The edges will be flat, like the iPhone 12/13 and new iPads.

An interesting, but certainly controversial novelty is the white frames around the screen and a redesigned, also white keyboard.

The computer will be available in seven colors, as will the 24-inch iMac with the M1.

Leaker @dylandkt, whose leaks about new Apple products have always been confirmed lately, gave further details on the new MacBook Air:

  • 1080p camera
  • MagSafe magnetic charging port
  • Power supply 30W
  • keyboard with full-size function keys
  • premiered mid 2022

@dylandkt also confirmed that the computer will be available in similar colors to the iMac 24 ”with white bezels and a white keyboard.

The new Air is likely to have two Thunderbolt / USB-C ports.

Since the computer will likely also have a notch like the new 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros, Ian Zelbo, a graphic artist working with John Prosser, has produced new renderings reflecting these and other changes.
