In early October, we noted Apple’s intentions to limit OLED and design improvements to the M6 Pro line, supported by information gathered from the model’s unique identifier. Renowned journalist Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, noted for his accurate predictions regarding Apple products, has also shared updates without providing a firm launch date, citing persistent uncertainties related to OLED production capabilities.

“But two Macs on the road map do mark major shifts. I previously wrote about the first one: a revamped M6 Pro and M6 Max MacBook Pro with an OLED display, thinner chassis and touch support. That’s slated to arrive between late 2026 and early 2027.”

The ambiguity in release schedule stems from Apple’s supply chain issues, particularly concerning the manufacturing process for OLED panels. Samsung, the anticipated supplier, is preparing its facilities for mass production, targeting completion in Q4 2026.
