Luka Doncic Injury Update: Latest on Mavericks All-Star’s status against Houston Rockets (March 31)
The Dallas Mavericks have labeled their star point guard Luka Doncic as uncertain for their game against the Houston Rockets, their rivals in the Southwest Division, this coming Sunday. This will be the teams’ third meeting of the season, with the series currently tied at 1-1.
Latest on Lukka Doncic’s Injury Status
Despite already playing with an Achilles injury in their last two games, Luka Doncic has now been listed with a knee injury for the first time.
Despite playing through multiple injuries throughout the season, he has managed to appear in 64 out of 73 games. The only game he missed was on Mar. 14 against the OKC Thunder, which was the first game he has missed since the start of February.
Due to his uncertain status, it is unknown whether he will participate in the game or not. It is probable that a decision will be made right before the game.
The Current State of Luka Doncic
Despite struggling with left Achilles soreness in the last three games, Luka Doncic has been given the green light to play in all three of those matchups.
The challenging responsibility of leading the offense appears to have affected the Maverick superstar, as shown by a hamstring injury suffered during a game against the Golden State Warriors.
The All-Star departed for the locker room in the fourth quarter and it was later confirmed that he would not be returning to the court on March 13, the first night of the back-to-back games.
Despite facing a series of injuries throughout the season, Doncic has remained determined. After initially being sidelined with an ankle sprain, he returned to the court but unfortunately suffered another setback when he broke his nose against the Philadelphia 76ers on Feb. 5.
Only a week later, during a game against the Washington Wizards from a different conference, Doncic suffered another injury when he was hit in the face by an elbow, leading to an immediate evaluation.
