Apple recently introduced the iPhone 14 Pro series, and with it a new pill-shaped notch for Pro models. The Cupertino giant has also introduced a new Dynamic Island feature in iOS, exclusive to iPhone 14 Pro models . With a pill-shaped camera notch, Dynamic Island is a new way to display information about things like music, navigation, notifications and calls. Unfortunately for Android users, there is no comparable feature on this side of the camp.
But that hasn’t stopped companies and individual developers from building something similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island. Some time ago , the MIUI theme developer was able to get “Dynamic Island” style notifications on the lock screen. Although the final experience left a lot to be desired.
Finally, it seems that someone has a winner in their hands. The recently released DynamicSpot app is probably the slickest implementation of the “Dynamic Island” style notification system on Android.
As you can see from the images above, the DynamicSpot app is very versatile and supports a wide range of applications. Obviously, some apps will have compatibility issues, but DynamicSpot handles the basics like music, navigation, and messages.
Dynamic Island is not configurable on iPhone, but dynamicSpot is! You can change interaction settings, choose when to show or hide the popup, or which apps to show.
Because dynamicSpot uses the Android notification system, it is compatible with almost all apps, such as message notifications, timer apps, and even music apps!

The application uses the AccessibilityService API to display a floating multitasking popup. DynamicSpot also uses the Android Notifications API to pull information from other apps to display in an enhanced popup.
However, one disadvantage is that the application requires full access control in order to work . But the developer assures that dynamicSport does not collect any data from the user and does not transfer anything to third parties.
There is also a pro version for just $4.99 , which unlocks new features such as showing on the lock screen or opening an app with a tap. The free version is also well-rounded and allows users to change a lot of things, such as the size and position of the popup. At the moment the app is still in early access, but you can download it from the Playstore here .
