On April 11, 2024, the CW announced via a press release that the highly anticipated spinoff series for FBoy Island, Lovers & Liars, will be airing. The original series, FBoy Island, first premiered on July 21, 2021 and has since received widespread praise for its innovative format and gripping drama over the course of three seasons.

The first season of Lovers & Liars, according to Rotten Tomatoes, follows a similar format to FBoy Island but with a twist. The synopsis for the former show is as follows:

“Three men on a tropical island are joined by 24 women for a chance to fall in love and win $100,000; however, only half of the women are looking for love, the other half are just there to deceive the men and win the cold hard cash.”

In addition to the renewal of Lovers & Liars season 1, FBoy Island season 3 was also announced. After being cancelled by STX Entertainment in December 2023, the dating show was picked up by CW.

Revamped Branding

Initially titled FGirl Island, the spinoff Lovers & Liars of FBoy Island underwent a rebranding by CW in February 2024. The official announcement was made on Next Star Media Group Inc.’s website, which also revealed the premiere episode’s timings and a sneak peek that will be released on Monday, April 1, 2024.

“A special sneak peek at the premiere of The CW’s dating competition series LOVERS AND LIARS, a spinoff of “FBoy Island” where three single men on a tropical island must determine which 24 women are there for love or cash, will air on Monday, April 1 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT).”

Nikki Glaser’s Role as Host

During the Lovers & Liars teaser, Nikki Glaser can be seen sporting a pink dress by the beach as she introduces viewers to the upcoming “FBoy Island sequel”and its new title. Nikki stated:

“Welcome to the sequel to FBoy Island, one might think his show is called FGirl Island, but it’s not. I’d watch it if I were you, it’s real good.”

It was announced in the press release that Nikki Glaser would be the host of the show. The Bachelor founder, Elan Gale, is the producer of this spinoff series. The season 1 executive producers are Nikki Bill Dixon and Audrey Smith.
