Love is Blind: Argentina made its debut on Netflix on October 6, bringing together a fresh cast of Latin American singles eager to explore romantic connections beyond physical appearances. The show, part of the global phenomenon that has captivated audiences, offers a unique platform for participants to delve into deep emotional connections.
Evangelina’s Journey of Self-Discovery
Among the featured singles is Evangelina, who formed a budding chemistry with fellow contestant Roberto. However, she revealed that her past experiences made it challenging for her to trust men. In a moment of candid self-reflection, she recognized that her family’s history might play a crucial role in her hesitance to open up.
“I did a bit of self-reflecting, and I think I have a hard time opening up whenever I meet a new guy, but I think it’s due to something with my history. There’s a pattern in my family. Growing up, there was always a lot of lying,”Evangelina confided to Roberto.
Confronting Family Trauma
During a date in episode 3, Evangelina shared more about her challenging upbringing, highlighting how it influenced her current outlook on relationships. She expressed that her issues with vulnerability were rooted in the dynamics she witnessed in her family.
Evangelina recounted the painful separation of her parents, which occurred nearly nine years ago due to her father’s infidelity, a betrayal that deeply affected her mother.
“My parents got separated about nine years ago. I remember, at that time, I saw my mom crying a lot. My dad wasn’t always faithful to my mom, and I don’t want to experience that with my partner,”she shared in a confessional segment.
Navigating New Relationships
Evangelina candidly admitted to Roberto that her struggle to open up could be misconstrued as disinterest. In response, Roberto expressed admiration for her honesty and shared that their connection had grown more profound since their initial date, which he hadn’t felt strongly about.
Roberto also disclosed that talking about intimacy was a complex topic for him due to his shy nature, yet Evangelina’s presence made him feel at ease.
Roberto’s Family Story
In an effort to deepen their bond, Evangelina prompted Roberto to share insights about his family. He began recounting the loss of his father in 2016, before elaborating on his sister’s recent struggles.
Roberto disclosed the harrowing experience of his sister giving birth prematurely, only to suffer a heart attack four days later. While she received critical care and survived, she is still on the road to recovery, relying on Roberto for support.
“Four days after all that happened, his mother, my sister, she had a heart attack. They were able to bring my sister back, and now I take care of her. I go with her to all her therapies, to the rehab that she needs. So yeah, I really miss them right now,”Roberto expressed emotionally.
Looking Ahead: A New Chapter
As episode 3 concluded, Roberto and Evangelina took a significant step in their journey by becoming engaged. The couple, along with others from the show, celebrated this milestone as they embarked on their honeymoon adventure.
