Lost Soul Aside Remains Unavailable in 130 Countries on Steam Even After PlayStation Network Account Sign-In Requirement Lifted

PlayStation Publishing’s Regional Restrictions on PC Games

In a recent shift, PlayStation has removed the mandatory requirement for players to sign in to a PlayStation Network account when playing single-player games on PC. However, there are concerns that this change may not fully eliminate geographic restrictions for titles published by PlayStation Publishing, particularly affecting games like Lost Soul Aside.

Restrictions in Unsupported Countries

According to discussions on the ResetERA forums, it appears that Lost Soul Aside will remain unavailable for purchase in 130 countries where the PlayStation Network doesn’t operate. This limitation is highlighted by information from the Steam Database.

Comparison with Other Titles

Interestingly, while the requirement for a PlayStation Network account has been lifted for Lost Soul Aside and other titles—such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and God of War Ragnarok—the regional blocks remain a sticking point. Many are hopeful that these restrictions are remnants of the now-defunct account sign-in policy and can be resolved before the game’s official launch.

Countdown to Release

After an extensive development period, Lost Soul Aside is set to be released soon, as confirmed during the PlayStation State of Play event on May 30th. Although the requirement for a PlayStation Network account for players in supported regions has been eliminated, players in unsupported territories still face challenges when it comes to accessing the game.

The gaming community eagerly awaits updates regarding these regional limitations, as removing them would significantly enhance accessibility for players worldwide.
