The highly anticipated GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 Founders Edition (FE) graphics cards are currently the only models from NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series available for sale in China, and their availability is notably limited.
Long Queues at the NVIDIA Booth for RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Cards
Demand for the GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs has surged, with sales figures reflecting a strong upward trend across major online platforms such as Amazon and insights from the latest Steam Hardware Survey. While the general availability has improved, the situation in China reveals ongoing challenges, particularly concerning the Founders Edition models.
In the Chinese market, acquiring a Founders Edition card has become somewhat of a rarity. Currently, the only RTX 50 FE models available are the GeForce RTX 5080 FE and RTX 5070 FE. Unlike other custom graphics cards, these Founders Editions can only be purchased from JD.com (Jing Dong), one of the largest online retailers in the region. Recently, these GPUs were also offered at the Bilibili World event 2025, where attendees had the opportunity to buy them directly from NVIDIA’s booth.

As evident from the images, eager gamers formed lengthy lines at the NVIDIA booth, each clutching vibrant green bags emblazoned with the GPU names. These bags were likely distributed at the ticket counter to streamline the wait. For those looking to purchase Founders Edition cards, the most accessible option remains JD.com, despite frequent stock shortages.

This significant turnout illustrates the high regard gamers in China have for Founders Editions. Despite the availability of more powerful custom cards from multiple manufacturers, many enthusiasts prefer the allure of the FE models, indicating their strong brand loyalty. It’s unclear how often NVIDIA organizes events where these Founders Editions are sold directly, but such opportunities appear to be quite rare.
