“Locked and loaded” – Marvel at how Francisco Lo sets up his terrifying triangle chokes
Francisco Lo, a renowned Brazilian grappler, will showcase his skills on the global stage at ONE Fight Night 21 on April 5th. He will take on Kade Ruotolo, the current ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion, in a non-title 180-pound openweight submission grappling match. Lo, a former IBJJF Pan gold medalist, is set to compete under the bright lights of the world stage.
Although facing one of the most intimidating grappling world champions, Francisco Lo appears self-assured and prepared, as seen in his training footage released by ONE Championship.
This is the video that contains the caption:
Locked and loaded 🔒 Will Francisco Lo emerge victorious in his ONE debut against Kade Ruotolo on April 5 at ONE Fight Night 21 on @primevideo? @franciscolojj
Just picture Lo catching Kade Ruotolo in that triangle choke and getting the tap out. It would certainly cause a stir on the internet and send shockwaves through the Jiu-jitsu community.
Francisco Lo sees similarities in Kade Ruotolo’s style
Prior to ONE Fight Night 21, Lo provided a truthful evaluation of the ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion, sharing with ONE Championship:
“I think we have very similar styles because I also aggressively look for submissions. He is also aggressive, doesn’t like to tie up the fight, and is always looking for the submission.”
“In a fight between two aggressive fighters, the one who can establish dominance early on typically emerges as the victor. As Ruotolo is notorious for his explosive starts, Lo must strategize on how to keep the defending champion on the defensive in the beginning of the bout.”
If he allows the 21-year-old to gain any momentum, Lo will spend most of the fight defending against takedowns and submission attempts.
