Locations to Discover Rime Beetles in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, players are frequently tasked by Dareel and Samin from Windward Plains to explore the fascinating Endemic Life across various biomes. Your next mission follows the introduction of the Dapperwing, as Samin expresses interest in obtaining a specific creature: the Rime Beetle.

The Rime Beetle is one of many beetle species found in the game, predominantly inhabiting cold regions such as the Iceshard Cliffs. Before setting out on your adventure, be sure to equip yourself with a Hot Drink to stave off the cold. Below, you’ll find essential tips on locating the Rime Beetle in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Location of the Rime Beetle in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Rime Beetle can be found primarily in the Iceshard Cliffs biome, where they are fairly easy to identify, as they are often seen rolling a sizable snowball.

Fortunately for hunters, Rime Beetles are clearly marked on the game’s map. Keep an eye out for the small blue icon shown above. Set this icon as a waypoint while riding your Seikret, and your companion will lead you directly to the beetle’s location.

Typically, a cluster of Rime Beetles resides in Area 2 of the Iceshard Cliffs. However, solitary beetles can be spotted throughout the biome, particularly in Area 11 and Area 13.

When you encounter a Rime Beetle, it is crucial to use your Capture Net to successfully fulfill Samin’s request. While you can use your Hook Slinger on the beetle to obtain some Nulberries from its snowball, this method will not capture the beetle.

After successfully capturing a Rime Beetle, make your way back to Samin at Windward Plains Base Camp to share your findings!
