Finding these mystical fountains is worthwhile, as each Great Fairy offers invaluable services: they can upgrade your armor, enhancing its power using materials you gather throughout your journey. Below are the locations of each Great Fairy Fountain, along with insights on the armor upgrade process.
Upgrading Armor with Great Fairies
Armor in *Breath of the Wild* does not degrade like weapons, allowing players to keep their favorite outfits intact. Although a plethora of armor options exist, scaling their effectiveness requires upgrades. Players are encouraged to select armor based on appearance and utility, then invest in enhancements as progress is made.
Each Great Fairy you awaken strengthens their combined powers, allowing for increasingly potent upgrades as you progress through the game. To access their services, however, players must offer a monetary tribute. While these upgrades don’t require materials, the fees rise with each fairy: the first costs 100 rupees, the second 500 rupees, the third 1, 000 rupees, and the final one demands a staggering 10, 000 rupees. Finding Great Fairy Cotera
Players will likely encounter Great Fairy Cotera first, as she resides near Kakariko Village, an early-game location. Villagers often provide hints regarding her whereabouts. Starting from Kakariko, players can ascend to the Ta’loh Naeg Shrine above the village. To the right of the shrine, a path leads into some woods; taking the left fork in the path brings you to what appears to be a massive flower.

Discovering Great Fairy Mija

Locating Great Fairy Than
Great Fairy Kaysa can be found in Hyrule’s western terrain, in the mountainous Tabantha Frontier region. Her fountain lies close to the Tabantha Great Bridge and Nero Hill.
The easiest access point is from Tabantha Tower, situated on Nero Hill. Once you’ve activated this tower as a warp point, stand at the top and look south. The vibrant flower of the Great Fairy should be visible, although it may be harder to spot at night. Glide down from the tower, pay the required fee, and unlock Kaysa’s powers.
Reaching Great Fairy Tera
Tera is the most elusive of all the Great Fairies, hidden away in the arid Gerudo Desert located in the southwestern corner of Hyrule. The extreme heat of the desert poses a serious risk to players, so it is advisable to dress appropriately and travel at night when temperatures are more bearable.
From Gerudo City, head southeast, targeting a location on the map labeled Dragon’s Exile. Just beyond that point, look for the Gerudo Great Skeleton marked on your map, along with a shrine nearby. Here, you will find Tera’s flower, poised to be revitalized by your presence.
Reviving Horses at the Horse Great Fairy Fountain
For those who cherish their registered horses in *Breath of the Wild*, caution is essential. Horses are not invulnerable; they can easily perish due to enemy attacks, lightning strikes, or falls from significant heights.
Should tragedy strike, all hope is not lost; revival is possible, but it comes at a price.
To restore a fallen horse, venture to the Lakeside Tower region and the nearby Highland Stable. Just southeast of the stable, you will find Malanya Spring, which resembles a Great Fairy Fountain. However, this is a unique fairy known as the goddess of horses. For a fee of 1, 000 rupees, she can revive any deceased companion, a valuable service for those who may have been reckless.
