The Quest for Ancient Hyrulean Text in *Tears of the Kingdom*
In *The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom*, amidst monumental challenges, Link finds time for some adventurous archaeology. His journey involves uncovering the hidden locations of slabs inscribed with Ancient Hyrulean Text, essential for delving into the rich lore of Hyrule. However, this endeavor is far from simple; it requires extensive exploration and navigation across diverse terrains.
To maximize your efficiency in this quest, it’s highly recommended to unlock all the Skyview Towers scattered throughout Hyrule. Additionally, prepare a substantial supply of stamina wheels to facilitate your gliding adventures. If you encounter difficulties reaching high altitudes for any of the slabs, you can construct a hot air balloon—combining a balloon, a flame emitter, and a platform—or a hovercraft by attaching fans to the underside of a platform to elevate yourself.
The Significance of Star-Shaped Sky Islands
As you traverse the skies of Hyrule, keep an eye out for the unique star or flower-shaped islands. These floating landforms house the slabs of Ancient Hyrulean Text, which recount timeless tales of past heroes and provide crucial context for the overarching narrative of *Tears of the Kingdom*.
Once you’ve completed your first regional phenomenon, return to Lookout Landing to start the quest of photographing each slab using your Sheikah Slate. After capturing images of the texts, visit Kakariko Village and speak with Wortsworth at the entrance to the Ring Ruins to claim your well-deserved rewards.
Locations of Ancient Hyrulean Text
In total, there are 12 tablets of Ancient Hyrulean Text waiting to be discovered throughout *Tears of the Kingdom*.The list of locations includes:
- West Hebra Sky: Found in the upper left corner, adjacent to the Rising Island Chain.
- East Hebra Sky: Located next to the sky labyrinth in the northern region of the map.
- North Hyrule Sky: Situated next to the Mayam Shrine.
- Sokkala Sky: To access this location, utilize the premade hovercraft located below the platform, which is guarded by a Flux construct. Ensure to attach extra batteries to ensure elevation!
- South Eldin Sky: Positioned next to Kadaunar Shrine.
- Lanayru Sky: Found near the Water Temple.
- Necluda Sky: Located in the far right corner of the map, in line with South Lanayru Sky.
- West Necluda Sky: Nested between the West Necluda and Necluda Sky archipelago.
- Faron Sky: Situated between Faron Sky and the West Necluda Sky archipelago.
- South Hyrule Sky: Southwest of the Great Sky Island.
- Gerudo Sky: Found in the eastern corner of the Gerudo Sky, heading towards Faron Sky.
- North Gerudo Sky: Overhead Gerudo Summit, located in the Gerudo Highlands.

Rewards for Finding the Ancient Texts
For each slab of Ancient Hyrulean Text that Link successfully locates, he earns a reward of 100 rupees. This totals 1200 rupees by the quest’s end—certainly a significant sum!
After documenting all the locations, as a special thank you from the adventure, Link receives the Zonai Survey team fabric for his glider. You can customize your glider’s appearance using this fabric at Hateno Village, adding a unique flair to your sky explorations.
