Recent reports from ITHome highlight that the G100 will include support for INT8 operations, a vital feature for executing AI tasks efficiently.

To clarify, INT8 operations refer to 8-bit integer processing, crucial for optimizing performance in AI applications. By supporting INT8 operations, the G100 GPU can accelerate both AI training and inference tasks. Currently, there are limited options in the Chinese market that offer similar capabilities, with the S4000 from Moore Threads being one of the few alternatives. Addressing this gap, Lisuan aims to bolster the efficiency of AI technology within the region.

According to a report from MyDrivers, Lisuan is actively pursuing AI-centric solutions and is considering the accelerator market, especially in light of the anticipated success following the G100’s launch. With its proprietary ‘TrueGPU Tiantu’ architecture and a self-sufficient software ecosystem, Lisuan is poised to compete against leading GPU manufacturers like NVIDIA and AMD.

As for the availability of the G100, current reports suggest that mass production is already underway, with a potential retail launch targeted for the end of this year.
