For those less familiar, earlier this year, Elon Musk’s xAI completed an all-stock acquisition of X, which valued the AI-focused venture at $80 billion and the social media platform at $33 billion, factoring in $12 billion in liabilities.

The timing of Yaccarino’s departure is particularly intriguing, arriving just before the anticipated launch of Grok 4, the latest version of xAI’s language model.
Recently, Grok faced backlash for its controversial remarks, including praise for Adolf Hitler, which led to the removal of several anti-Semitic posts from X.
Financial Performance Under Yaccarino
On a positive note, Yaccarino successfully revamped X’s financial standings. The platform is projected to witness its first annual revenue growth since Musk’s acquisition in 2022, with ad revenue in the U. S.expected to rise by 17.5% in 2025 to reach $1.31 billion.
For context, X recorded $4.51 billion in revenue during 2021, the last full year it operated as a public entity. Following Musk’s takeover, he implemented rigorous cost-cutting measures, transforming X into a financially sustainable platform despite a decline in overall revenue.
Upcoming Grok 4 Launch
As mentioned, X is poised to unveil its Grok 4 LLM later this evening. Elon Musk will preside over a livestream event to introduce xAI’s newest AI model, which is expected to be released in two configurations:
