Introducing the latest innovation in portable computing: the world’s lightest 16-inch laptop. It surpasses the current 1kg laptop options by providing a larger display, although its hardware configuration raises some eyebrows.
Lenovo Unveils the Lecoo Air 16: A Lightweight Marvel at $700
Lenovo, renowned as a leading brand in the PC industry, has released the Lecoo Air 16, the first 16-inch laptop to weigh under 1 kilogram and measure merely 1 centimeter in thickness. While this isn’t the first laptop to reach the 1kg benchmark, it notably offers a larger screen compared to existing options like the ASUS Zenbook S13 and A14, which feature 13 and 14-inch displays respectively.

However, despite its impressive lightness, the Lecoo Air 16 is equipped with relatively older hardware, which raises questions amid the availability of more powerful and efficient CPUs on the market. Lenovo has opted for the Meteor Lake Core Ultra 5 125—one of the slower options among its category—without any official word on potential alternate configurations.

The construction of the Lecoo Air 16 utilizes a magnesium alloy for a robust yet lightweight casing. This model features a stunning 16-inch display with a 2.5K resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and a high 120Hz refresh rate, facilitating vibrant visuals. Styled with an XPS seamless keyboard akin to that of the Dell 16 Premium, the Lecoo Air 16 also boasts a pleasing aesthetic that aligns with the laptop’s overall sleek design, making it an excellent choice for users on the go, even with its Core Ultra 5 125H specs.
Additional specifications include a substantial 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 6400 MT/s, coupled with a 1 TB storage drive. A 60Wh battery ensures extended usage time, providing reliable performance throughout the day. In terms of connectivity, it includes two USB Type A ports, two USB Type C ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an HDMI port for external displays.
The Lenovo Lecoo Air 16 is set to launch on October 30 at a price of 4, 999 Yuan, approximately $700.
