Lenovo Unveils Legion Go S with SteamOS at CES

At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Valve has announced exciting developments related to SteamOS, the operating system originally designed for the Steam Deck handheld gaming device. The spotlight is now on the Lenovo Legion Go S, which marks the inaugural third-party hardware to launch with SteamOS. This next-gen gaming handheld is powered by AMD’s cutting-edge Ryzen Z2 processor, specially engineered for portable gaming experiences.

In a recent announcement, Valve disclosed plans to test a version of SteamOS tailored specifically for third-party devices like the Legion Go S prior to the product’s launch in May 2025. The Lenovo Legion Go S is set to retail starting at $599.99 for the SteamOS version, while a Windows variant will be available this month, priced at $729.99. Buyers can choose between AMD’s Ryzen Z2 Go or Z1 Extreme processors, with configurations offering up to 32GB of high-speed 7500MHz LPDDR5X RAM. Users can enjoy an eight-inch display featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio and a refreshing 120Hz touchscreen. The device houses a robust 3-cell 55.5Whr battery, and weighs 730 grams. Connectivity options include two USB4 ports, Wi-Fi 6E support, and a microSD card reader, enhancing its versatility.
