“LEAVE TAEHYUNG ALONE” – Fans React as Internet Speculates Min Hee-jin is Leveraging BTS’ V to Influence Public Opinion Amid Controversy

In the ongoing dispute between HYBE and Min Hee-jin, recent events have led BTS fans, known as ARMYs, to speculate that she may be exploiting V of BTS to potentially influence public perception. On October 29, Min Hee-jin joined music critic Kim Young-dae on his YouTube live stream on ‘김영대의 School of Music’. During the broadcast, she revealed her experiences of being closely followed by a car and receiving threatening messages.

Additionally, she spoke about the support she received from BTS’ V during her challenging times with HYBE. It’s worth noting that Min Hee-jin has filed a legal injunction against HYBE to reclaim her position as the CEO of ADOR, a role that Kim Ju-young has currently taken over. However, her request was denied by the Seoul Central District Court on the same day.

During the live conversation, Min Hee-jin shared that the BTS member reached out to her to inquire about her well-being amidst the ongoing turmoil. She mentioned that even while serving in the military, V contacted her and expressed concern about when it would be appropriate to reach out given that the situation was still unfolding. On a personal note, she highlighted that he had wished her a happy birthday, commending his thoughtfulness.

Despite her statements, fans were quick to point out contradictions. For instance, they noted that her birthday, December 16, occurred well before her legal dispute with HYBE began. A member of the ARMY pleaded with ADOR’s former CEO to refrain from involving Kim Taehyung, also known as V, in her issues.

“She just lost her second injunction, and now she’s dropping idol names to portray herself as a victim for media attention. Let Taehyung serve his military duty in peace; stop dragging him into your corporate saga.”

Further remarks echoed a similar narrative, suggesting that Min Hee-jin is using V as a “shield.”Others contended that he wouldn’t have been able to message her since he had just enlisted and was bound by strict communication restrictions.

“Using him as a shield to victimize herself,” wrote a fan.

“He couldn’t have contacted her because he enlisted on the 11th; soldiers don’t have phone access for the first five weeks,” another user remarked.

“Keep his name out of your mouth,” a netizen urged.

Many users voiced their opinions, speculating that Min Hee-jin’s comments came right after her court injunction was dismissed. Fans interpreted this as an attempt to garner sympathy and reshape public sentiment.

“She lost her injunction this afternoon; the judge dismissed her plea to be reinstated as CEO, labeling her claims ‘illogical’. Shortly after, she drops this vague scoop in the evening with no concrete details, hoping to divert media focus and gain sympathy from the public and K-pop fans,” posted an X user.

“Someone should prevent her from mentioning idols, wtf,” another person suggested.

Min Hee-jin’s Statements from Her Recent ‘School of Music’ Broadcast

In a leaked conversation from May 2024, Min Hee-jin reportedly expressed her desire to “end BTS,”coinciding with a period when all members of the septet were enlisted in the military. However, during her chat with Kim Yeon-dae, she described V as “bubbly”and “lively,”appreciating his message during her distress.

During the ‘School of Music’ session, Min Hee-jin stated,

“On my birthday, V sent me a text message from the military at dawn wishing me a happy birthday.”

She continued,

“He is such a bright and bubbly person; I was genuinely moved. It takes a kind heart to do that, and I am really grateful.”

In a report by ChosunBiz on October 30, she clarified her rationale for filing the injunction against HYBE was to demonstrate her innocence. Min Hee-jin acknowledged that such a lawsuit had a low chance of success, but she felt it necessary to provide the label a chance to rethink its position.

She emphasized that her intention was never to leave the company, contradicting claims made by HYBE. She also disclosed feelings of being consistently harassed by an unidentified source and reiterated her need to establish her innocence.

Moreover, she alleged that a suspicious vehicle had been following her, prompting her to report the matter to the police after capturing a photo of its license plate. She further claimed to be facing severe threats.
