Leaker Reveals Intriguing Insights on The Elder Scrolls 6

Overview of The Elder Scrolls 6 Developments

  • The first substantial glimpse of The Elder Scrolls 6 may be unveiled as early as July 2025.
  • Upcoming features include a minimum of a dozen expansive cities, naval combat, shipbuilding mechanics reminiscent of Starfield, alongside the nostalgic presence of Skyrim’s iconic dragons.
  • Phil Spencer indicated back in 2023 that the release of TES 6 is at least five years away.

Recent insights suggest that Bethesda might reveal The Elder Scrolls 6 to fans in July 2025. This prediction comes from an established leaker, Extas1s, who cites unnamed sources in their report. The anticipated showcase would offer fans a meaningful insight into the project, which has been shrouded in mystery since its initial teaser in 2018.

As the gaming community eagerly celebrates the 14th anniversary of Skyrim this year, the successor remains elusive. Notably, June 10 this year will also signify seven years since the release of the first teaser, consisting purely of pre-rendered visuals. Since that moment, Bethesda has been relatively silent, primarily concentrating on finalizing Starfield up until late 2023.

In a recent video posted to his YouTube channel, Extas1s elaborated on the timeline for the game. He indicated that Bethesda could be ready to present the first comprehensive look at TES 6 by the summer of 2025.

Is Summer 2025 a Realistic Timeline for a TES 6 Trailer?

While the forecast of a summer 2025 trailer may appear overly optimistic given Bethesda’s disclosure about the much-anticipated RPG, it’s important to consider the context. Although The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced in 2018, much of the subsequent time has been dedicated to pre-production. Active development on TES 6 commenced only in October 2023, immediately following the release of Starfield in early September.

Starfield itself took around eight years to develop, a considerable portion of which involved revamping the Creation Engine—a significant endeavor that isn’t customary for every title within the studio’s portfolio. Despite these considerations, a summer 2025 trailer isn’t entirely out of the question, particularly since TES 6 is expected to progress more swiftly than Starfield.

TES 6 Will Feature at Least a Dozen Large Cities

The reports from Extas1s also mention other intriguing aspects of TES 6, including claims that the game will feature at least a dozen expansive cities. Additionally, the game is expected to reintroduce Skyrim’s beloved dragons while implementing a more dynamic leveling system that emphasizes activity-based progression rather than rigid classes. Furthermore, players can look forward to naval battles and a shipbuilding system inspired by that of Starfield.

If Bethesda follows through with a showcase in summer 2025, it would strongly suggest the studio’s ambition to launch TES 6 before the current console generation concludes, or potentially at the beginning of the next.
