Leaked Radeon RX 9060 Specifications Reveal Identical Shader Count to XT Variant with Slower VRAM

AMD is reportedly gearing up for the launch of a non-XT variant in the RX 9060 series. Early indications suggest that this model will not lag significantly behind its XT counterpart in terms of performance.

Performance Overview of the Radeon RX 9060 Non-XT

While AMD has yet to make an official announcement regarding the Radeon RX 9060 series, speculation points to the introduction of a more budget-friendly alternative to the RX 9060 XT. Historically, AMD has launched non-XT versions in its 60 class lineup, and with the RX 9060, it appears to be following a similar approach. The RX 9060 XT comes in both 8 GB and 16 GB configurations, firmly establishing itself as a competitor against NVIDIA’s RTX 5060.

In typical AMD fashion, the RX X600 range is expected to challenge the RTX X060 series. The goal seems to be to hit the sub-$300 price bracket once again, as reported by Videocardz. Details leaked suggest that the technical specifications of the RX 9060 will closely mirror those of the RX 9060 XT, featuring the same GPU die and shader count.

One notable difference lies in the video RAM. The RX 9060 will maintain the same VRAM capacity but will feature slower GDDR6 VRAM, clocked at 18 Gbps, compared to the 20 Gbps of the RX 9060 XT. This adjustment leads to a reduction in memory bandwidth from 320 GB/s down to 288 GB/s, indicating a roughly 10% decrease in performance. Additionally, the boost clock of the RX 9060 is anticipated to be around 2.99 GHz, which is approximately 140 MHz lower than that of its XT model, although the base clock details remain unconfirmed.
