Pricing Revealed for Upcoming ROG Xbox Ally Models
The anticipated prices for ASUS’s ROG Xbox Ally gaming handhelds have surfaced online, and they appear to be quite competitive given their specifications.
Cost Breakdown and Market Comparison
According to a report by 3D Juegos, ASUS inadvertently disclosed the pricing details for the two models intended for the European market. The entry-level model is set to retail at €599 (approximately $650), while the high-end X model is priced at €899 (around $975).Although these figures might seem high for everyday consumers, they are consistent with the current pricing of similar handheld PCs in the market, aligning with industry expectations.
Specifications and Features
The ROG Xbox Ally systems have been generating buzz since they were announced at last month’s Xbox Game Showcase. The base variant will be equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z2A processor, striking a balance between performance and energy efficiency for enhanced battery longevity. On the other hand, the premium X model boasts the more advanced AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor, which promises improved frame rates and superior graphical clarity over its base counterpart.
Notably, both models will not feature an OLED display. This decision was made to prioritize Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support while also managing both power consumption and production costs effectively.
Expected Launch Timeline
As of now, there is no confirmed release date for the ROG Xbox Ally models worldwide. However, earlier indications hinted at a possible launch in October. With the recent price revelations, it appears that ASUS and Microsoft might soon announce the official pricing details and release schedule.
