Leaked iPhone 17 Air Case Reveals Ultra-Thin Design Inspired by Google Pixel 9, Signifying Apple’s Major Design Change in Years

Apple is gearing up for an exciting release with the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, which is rumored to introduce a groundbreaking model featuring an ultra-sleek design and a freshly conceptualized camera bar. This new model, likely designated as the ‘iPhone 17 Air, ’ will replace the current ‘Plus’ models in Apple’s range, potentially at a similar pricing point. However, the iPhone 17 Air’s comparison against the ‘Pro’ versions is still uncertain. Recent leaks further corroborate this narrative, as a tipster has unveiled the first case designed for the iPhone 17 Air, showcasing its camera bar and a dedicated Camera Control Button cutout.

Revolutionary Design: iPhone 17 Air’s Pixel-Inspired Camera Bar

The iPhone 17 Air is on track to stand out as an innovative device. In response to Apple’s anticipated ultra-thin design, Samsung has initiated its own competition with the Galaxy Edge series. The latest leak originates from Sonny Dickson on X, who shared an image of the iPhone 17 Air case that reflects its design dimensions. Typically, accessory manufacturers receive the specifications of unreleased iPhones in advance, allowing them to prepare their products accordingly.

In many cases, these accessory brands gain insights through collaborations or by conducting research at production sites to understand forthcoming designs. As indicated by the recently leaked case image for the iPhone 17 Air, the device’s aesthetics are notably different from its predecessors, particularly with significant alterations visible on the back panel.

The leak reveals a camera bar that extends horizontally at the upper edge of the device. This prominent feature will slightly protrude from the main body, reminiscent of the Google Pixel 9 Pro series. Housing essential components like a single-lens camera, an LED flash, and a microphone, the camera bar represents a shift in design for Apple. Notably, unlike the iPhone 17 Pro models, the Air variant will forego a LiDAR scanner and additional cameras. It is anticipated to incorporate the same Fusion Camera technology seen in the iPhone 16e.

Additionally, the leaked case image includes a cutout for a Camera Control Button, signaling an alignment with the rest of the iPhone lineup. Currently, the iPhone 16e is the only model without this feature, though future iterations may see changes. The overall design remains consistent with previous models, featuring an Action Button on one side and volume controls on the opposite side. Stay tuned for more updates on the iPhone 17 Air as additional information emerges.
