Leaked Details of Apple Watch Ultra 3: 1.98-Inch Display with Slimmer Bezels and Exciting Features Before September 9 Release

Apple seems to be preparing for the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3, although this new model may not feature the drastic redesign many anticipate. Recent updates from Apple indicate intriguing developments, as the fifth developer beta of iOS 26 reveals a hidden reference to a display resolution of 422 x 514 pixels. This configuration does not correspond to any of the current Apple Watch variants. For comparison, the existing Apple Watch Ultra 2 sports a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels, hinting that a larger screen for the Ultra 3 might be on the horizon.

Anticipated Features of Apple Watch Ultra 3: Larger Display and Enhancements

According to MacRumors, maintaining a similar pixel density of around 335 ppi suggests that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 could feature a display measuring approximately 1.98 inches diagonally, compared to the Ultra 2’s 1.93-inch screen. This represents about a 3% increase in display size. Importantly, it seems Apple plans to achieve this enhancement by reducing the bezel size, rather than enlarging the chassis, thereby providing around 5% more screen area without an increase in bulk.

This potential adjustment could significantly enhance user experience, although it remains uncertain if the standard Apple Watch Series 11 will benefit from similar changes. Following the recent redesign of the standard models, further alterations this year appear unlikely. The Apple Watch Ultra already boasts a robust, rugged aesthetic; minimizing bezels while enlarging the display can create a more immersive visual experience for users when interacting with notifications, maps, or glanceable apps.

Alongside the increased display resolution, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to introduce a variety of advanced features. Rumored upgrades include satellite messaging capabilities without the need for cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity, and a wide-angle LTPO3 display akin to that found in the Apple Watch Series 10. Additionally, integration of built-in 5G RedCap cellular support, blood pressure monitoring, and new S10 or S11 processors for enhanced performance and energy efficiency are also on the table.
