Exploring Layton Greene’s Career: Notable Releases and Achievements

The singer from East St. Louis, Illinois, has amassed a substantial fan base thanks to her remarkable vocal talent. She has collaborated with notable record labels like Quality Control, Motown, and Universal throughout her career.

While not born into a musically-inclined family, Greene’s mother encouraged her passion for singing. Her grandmother’s initiative led her to join a choir, and later her stepfather became her supporter. In a conversation with Forbes magazine on December 8 last year, Greene recalled:

“I remember performing on the porch for money. My family would always ask me to sing, and I’d feel nervous, so I’d ask them to turn away and say, ‘Well, I need some cash or something.’ I was quite the hustler.”

Greene also shared that leaving high school drastically changed her life path. She joined Quality Control in 2019, reflecting on her experiences there by stating:

“They offer support beyond just music. They really care about me, which is a big advantage.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Greene was actively creating music in the studio, focusing on crafting tracks that resonate with audiences and fit industry standards.

Prior to signing with various labels, Greene gained attention through a song she released on SoundCloud in 2017, which helped boost her online following. That same year, she made her stage debut alongside Kash Doll at a club in Knoxville, Tennessee.

In her discography, Greene includes an EP titled “Tell Ya Story,”launched in 2019 through Quality Control and Motown. She also contributed to the compilation album “Control the Streets, Volume 2,”collaborating with artists such as Lil Baby, DJ Durel, and Jordan Hollywood.
