Microsoft Unveils Enhanced Windows Hello in Latest Insider Preview Build
Microsoft has officially released the Windows 11 Preview Build 22635.4440 (KB5045889) for Beta Channel Insiders. This significant update introduces a reimagined user experience for Windows Hello, marking a pivotal advancement after years of consistent enhancements. The recent changes are aimed at aligning Windows Hello with contemporary design standards while streamlining the authentication process for improved user intuitiveness.
Visual Upgrades to Windows Hello
The transformations in Windows Hello are prominently showcased across various interfaces, including the Windows sign-in screen, passkeys, and the Microsoft Store, as well as through other authentication pathways. These visual enhancements enhance the overall functionality and aesthetic appeal of the Windows Hello experience.
New User Experience for Passkeys
In addition to the visual updates, the latest build introduces a streamlined Windows Hello credential experience specifically for passkeys. This upgrade not only provides a secure method for quick authentication but also allows users to seamlessly transition between various authentication methods. The functionality will extend to new administrative protection features anticipated in Windows 11, version 24H2, and later updates.

[Input Adjustments]
- The new Gamepad keyboard layout for the on-screen keyboard has been temporarily disabled to address specific issues identified in the Beta Channel. This feature will be reintroduced in a forthcoming update.
- Ongoing fixes are being systematically rolled out to the Beta Channel with toggle on.*
[Touch Keyboard Fixes]
- An issue causing the touch keyboard to crash and the IME candidate window to not display for some users has been resolved.
