While it’s evident that gamers in North America have a preference for NVIDIA, reports indicate a rising inclination towards AMD GPUs in specific European regions.
AMD Radeon GPUs Surge in Popularity Over NVIDIA in Recent Sales
Recent sales data from June highlighted a clear trend in the best-selling GPUs on Amazon US: NVIDIA cards continue to dominate. However, when examining sales at one of Germany’s leading retailers, Mindfactory, it becomes apparent that AMD’s RDNA 4 series is capturing the interest of gamers in several parts of Europe.
This isn’t the first instance where AMD’s Radeon RX 9000 series outperformed NVIDIA’s offerings, despite expectations that NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series would lead, especially due to recent price reductions approaching or even dipping below the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP).The preference for NVIDIA can generally be attributed to factors such as superior ray tracing performance, established brand trust, and reliable driver updates. Nonetheless, it’s important to acknowledge that AMD’s drivers have improved significantly in recent years.

Analyzing the specific sales figures, the Radeon RX 9070 XT emerged as the bestseller at Mindfactory, with around 470 units sold in just one week. This marks a noticeable increase, primarily driven by the recent price drops. Following closely is the Radeon RX 9060 XT, which offers both 8 GB and 16 GB variants. The 16 GB version saw sales of about 215 units, while the 8 GB variant lagged significantly with only 40 units sold—surprisingly lower than the RTX 5060, which managed 45 units.
In third and fourth place were NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5070 Ti, with 145 and 125 units sold, respectively. Unexpectedly, the GeForce RTX 5070, previously the top performer on Amazon in June, fell to just 55 units sold. The reasons behind this decline remain unclear, especially given that multiple RTX 5070 models are now priced between 550 and 600 Euros, which is substantially lower than its MSP of 649 Euros.

Despite the presence of the RTX 5070, the preference clearly leans towards the Radeon RX 9070, which sold 75 units while many of its counterparts seem to be gathering dust on retailer shelves. Examining the total GPU market share on Mindfactory, AMD accounted for approximately 65% of total sales with 950 units, whereas NVIDIA held 35% with 510 units sold. With a significantly lower average selling price of 574 Euros, AMD also captured 58.13% of the total revenue, while NVIDIA’s average selling price of 770 Euros contributed to 41.87% of the revenue, fueled in part by higher-priced GPUs like the RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5090.
