Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has undergone a second hotfix aimed at resolving critical bugs and enhancement of optimization following its launch on PC, which was met with numerous challenges. Developed by Insomniac Games and adapted for PC by Nixxes Software, this title was eagerly awaited and finally made its way to PC on January 30, 2025.
This latest installment in the Spider-Man franchise debuted on PS5 in 2023 with widespread acclaim. Building upon the narratives introduced in 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and its 2020 spin-off, the game not only enjoyed commercial success but also garnered a multitude of award nominations. In a move towards expanding its offerings, PlayStation decided to release the game on PC, an exciting step for the company as this was one of its first major first-party titles to make the switch. Unfortunately, many players encountered major glitches upon release, prompting a rapid response from the developers.
Nixxes Software has rolled out a hotfix, designated as version 1.202.0.0, intended to rectify various technical flaws within the PC port. Among the key improvements, this patch addresses crash occurrences and enhances overall stability. It also resolves an issue that prevented certain players from unlocking in-game achievements and addresses frame rate problems that hindered progress during the “Show Me New York”mission. Additionally, a bug that incorrectly displayed the triangle and square buttons for users operating a DualShock 4 controller with Steam Input has been corrected.
Upcoming Updates Following Latest Patch for Spider-Man 2

The swift response from the developers, with two hotfixes released in less than a week, demonstrates their commitment to enhancing player experience. According to a recent update on the game’s Steam page, both the quality assurance and development teams are “actively investigating”remaining issues and are preparing additional patches to refine gameplay. Given the feedback from the gaming community, players can anticipate more hotfixes and substantial updates shortly.
While the PC adaptation of Spider-Man 2 may not fully meet expectations, the gaming community’s enthusiasm remains undeterred. A notable example of this creativity is the emergence of a mod that reinstates Peter Parker’s original face from previous versions of Marvel’s Spider-Man, showcasing the vibrant modding scene surrounding this title.
