Laptop OEM Roadmap Reveals Intel Nova Lake as “Core Ultra 400” Series for 2027, Alongside Panther Lake & Medusa Point Featuring “AMD Zen 6” in 2026

Recent leaks from an unidentified laptop OEM have unveiled Intel’s upcoming CPU lineup, confirming the branding of its next-generation Nova Lake processors as the “Core Ultra 400″series. Additionally, this roadmap hints at the anticipated Panther Lake and Medusa Point CPUs, expected to launch in 2026.

Intel’s Future Plans: Core Ultra 400 “Nova Lake”CPUs and More

The leaked information indicates that the long-speculated family designation for the Nova Lake CPUs will indeed be the Core Ultra 400 series. This series will encompass a comprehensive range of processors tailored for both laptops and desktops. On the laptop side, Nova Lake will succeed the Core Ultra 300 “Panther Lake”CPUs, while the desktop version will transition directly from the Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake”series, effectively skipping a generation for desktop processors.

According to the roadmap, Intel’s Panther Lake “Core Ultra 300″processors are expected to debut in 2026. In contrast, the Nova Lake “Core Ultra 400″CPUs are slated for a 2027 release. Keep in mind that these schedules pertain specifically to the products outlined by the OEM in question. However, limited quantities of Intel’s Panther Lake CPUs are anticipated to hit the market in Q4 of 2025, and we may see mobile iterations of Nova Lake showcased at CES.

On the AMD side, the roadmap reveals plans for Medusa Point—a new series of APUs that will take the place of Strix Point. The Medusa Point APUs will utilize AMD’s latest Zen 6 core architecture, with several specifications having already surfaced in previous leaks.

From a competitive standpoint, both the Panther Lake and Medusa Point lineups are poised to become the leading processor solutions for laptops in the upcoming year. Each series will introduce innovative core and graphics architectures and will be produced using advanced process technology. Notably, Intel’s Panther Lake will employ the state-of-the-art 18A process node, marking it as the premier client product to feature this technology. Recent reports also suggest that AMD is currently testing its Medusa Point APUs on the FP10-based “PLUM”REVB platform in 45W configurations. Meanwhile, Intel is in the final stages of preparing Panther Lake for market launch, with further details expected shortly.
