Lance Bass Reveals Diddy’s Request for Justin Timberlake to Leave NSYNC

During the latest episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Lance Bass revealed a surprising incident involving Sean “Diddy”Combs that took place during NSYNC’s final tour in 2002. Bass, now 45, recounted overhearing Diddy persuading Justin Timberlake to leave his bandmates behind.

This disclosure comes amidst ongoing controversies surrounding Diddy, who has recently faced serious legal issues, including arrests for s*x trafficking and racketeering.

Recalling the pivotal moment from the last NSYNC concert in Orlando, Bass specifically remembered Diddy telling Timberlake:

“You need to drop these f-ers. You need to go solo. You need to drop [them],”said Lance Bass, reflecting on Diddy’s words.

Bass described Diddy’s behavior as “kind of horrible.”

Lance Bass Discusses Diddy’s Influence

“I forgot he had opened up on our last tour until all this came about. I was like, I don’t like you anymore, Diddy. At my own show? What the hell!”

NSYNC, which was formed in 1995, included members Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and JC Chasez. The group went into an indefinite hiatus in 2002, coinciding with Timberlake’s debut solo album, Justified.

The popular boy band reunited for the release of a new song, Better Place, featured in the film Trolls Band Together, nearly two decades later in 2023. They also collaborated on Paradise, a track from Timberlake’s latest album, Everything I Thought I Was.

During the same interview, Lance Bass hinted at the potential for an NSYNC reunion tour, stating:

“I can finally say we’re in talks right now,”he confirmed. “We’d be stupid not to do something. Just hold your breath just a little longer. It’s gonna take a little time, but I think something’s coming.”

This excitement follows the band’s recent resurgence and a renewed interest in their classic hits, including Bye Bye Bye, which experienced a boost in popularity thanks to its feature in the opening credits of Deadpool & Wolverine.

Meanwhile, Diddy was apprehended in New York City, facing charges of racketeering conspiracy and s*x trafficking. He stands accused of abusing women and employing intimidation tactics to exert control over his victims. Diddy has denied these allegations but is currently in custody after being denied bail.

Lance Bass clarified that he is not interested in getting involved with Diddy’s social circles, stating:

“I never had time to go to a Diddy party,”he remarked.

Bass expressed enthusiasm about NSYNC getting back into music, citing that their new releases are generating significant interest once again. “We’d be stupid not to do something,”he noted, leaving fans eager to see what NSYNC might have in store.
