The seventh episode of season one of La Maison, named La Vie en Rose, made its debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, October 25, 2024. As this captivating French drama approaches its finale, the current episode intensifies with increased family conflicts and lurking betrayals around every corner.
Although La Maison season 1 episode 7 remains rich with conflicts within the Ledu family, the father-daughter dynamic between haute couture designers Vincent and Paloma has taken a positive turn. The previous tensions and harsh remarks have dissipated, highlighting the strengthening bond between Paloma and Vincent in this latest episode.
New Alliances in La Maison Season 1 Episode 7
Following his emotional turmoil, including a dramatic near-drowning witnessed in episode 5, Vincent Ledu resolved to face his feelings. In the next episode, the original designer of the Ledu family made a heartfelt effort to reconnect with his estranged daughter, Paloma, just before Christmas. Despite facing betrayal during their reunion, both Vincent and Paloma emerged with a significantly improved relationship.
The episode depicts their burgeoning father-daughter relationship as Paloma opts to remain in Brittany with Vincent until New Year’s. They share sentimental moments throughout episode 7, including nostalgic viewings of old footage featuring Gino and a young Paloma.
As Paloma struggles with her debut couture collection for Maison LEDU, she unexpectedly finds a mentor in Vincent. He not only recounts stories about her ties to the fashion house but also takes her under his wing, honoring the commitment he expressed in a prior episode. Vincent’s desire for Paloma to become his heir drives him to impart his vast knowledge of the Ledu legacy.
In this episode, Vincent collaborates with Paloma to help her “discover her passion.”He guides her in various areas, from hand-weaving lace to nurturing her creative spirit and bolstering her self-confidence. Although not directly involved in her collection, Vincent equips Paloma with essential skills to ensure that Maison LEDU can regain its prestigious standing in the French fashion world.
Paloma’s Breakthrough Inspiration for Her Couture Collection
Vincent’s mentorship bears fruit, leading Paloma to unearth her desired inspiration. She formulates a fresh concept for her couture line that surpasses her previous ideas. After hours spent weaving lace under Vincent’s guidance, she innovatively decides to use seaweed thread, resulting in a more durable, vegan, and locally-sourced lace.
Describing the inspiration for her couture collection in the upcoming LEDU fashion show, Paloma reveals it will honor the sea—the birthplace of Maison LEDU—naming the collection “The Wave.”
Will Vincent Make His Comeback at Maison Ledu?
Following episode 7, the bond between Vincent and Paloma has flourished to the extent that she now trusts her father concerning the Maison. Their quality time spent during the holidays, along with Vincent’s supportive teachings, has empowered Paloma in her search for answers and creativity for her couture collection.
A significant development in their relationship is Paloma inviting Vincent back to Maison LEDU. The return of the designer—who was once the face of the renowned fashion house—has been a hot topic ever since he left in episode 3. By the conclusion of season 1 episode 7, it’s revealed that he indeed returns as a consultant for LEDU.
However, not everyone is thrilled about Vincent’s comeback. Perle expresses concern, warning Paloma that his return could create confusion within LEDU. Meanwhile, Paloma’s friend Ye-Ji shows blatant disapproval, making her feelings about Paloma’s decision evident.
With only a few episodes remaining before the season finale, it remains to be seen if the new collaborative dynamic of Paloma and Vincent at Maison LEDU will prove successful.
Robinson Faces the Pain of Betrayal in La Maison Season 1 Episode 7
In the previous episode, Robinson was left deeply wounded after Solal disclosed his role as a spy for Rovel, meant to pressure Robinson into selling his shares. By episode 7, while the hurt from betrayal lingers, a heartfelt interaction between Robinson and Solal reveals genuine feelings on both sides.
Before leaving Brittany, Solal reassures Robinson that he will testify against Rovel in the ongoing lawsuit to aid Robinson’s family. However, when Solal fails to appear, Robinson becomes worried, sensing that something might be amiss.
Robinson faces yet another emotional upheaval in season 1 episode 7 when he discovers that his uncle, Victor, has been playing him. Robinson thought he could back out of his deal with Rovel—an arrangement to establish his own Maison in return for his shares in LEDU—but soon learns that Rovel has already completed the transaction, and the shares now belong to them.
Caroline Rovel Discovers New Perspectives
Throughout the initial seven episodes of this French fashion saga, Caroline Rovel has been somewhat of a background figure—visible yet voiceless. Being the only daughter of the powerful Madame Diane Rovel, she seems powerless as long as her mother retains authority at the helm of their family empire.
However, in episode 7, she faints during a meal shared with Victor, Louise, and her. Madame Rovel has her closely guarded by Lucy, and Caroline finds herself unable to enter her mother’s room.
Towards the end of La Maison season 1 episode 7, Caroline confidently discusses her potential succession with Lucy. With her mother apparently ailing, she suggests that when Madame Rovel is no longer in charge, she will take her place, hinting that an alliance with Lucy could be mutually beneficial.
In a bid to check on her mother’s condition, Caroline attempts to bypass Lucy. Unaware of Madame Rovel’s severe health issues, including a brain tumor diagnosis, she senses her mother’s waning health from previous episodes.
As the episode closes, it seems that Lucy may relent, allowing Caroline access to Madame Rovel’s room after Caroline indicates that their fates might hinge on what lies behind that door.
