Kulabdam wants a shot at Jonathan Haggerty’s bantamweight Muay Thai gold if he beats the mighty Nong-O
Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai, a two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai world champion, has expressed his desire for a title shot against Jonathan Haggerty if he emerges victorious in his upcoming fight.
Since March 2023, Kulabdam has experienced a small setback following his third-round knockout defeat to Muangthai. However, he quickly recovered and has since secured four consecutive victories (one of which was a no-contest), including a first-round knockout against Julio Lobo on Feb. 16 at ONE Friday Fights 52.
Next week, ONE Championship is set to make its comeback at the renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium for ONE Friday Fights 58. The event will showcase a series of thrilling fights, including Kulabdam’s quest to maintain his winning streak by defeating the legendary Nong-O.
During his interview with ONE, ‘Left Meteorite’ expressed his belief that a victory against Nong-O would earn him a well-deserved title shot.
“If I can beat Nong-O impressively enough, it shouldn’t be difficult for me to get the title show with Jonathan Haggerty.”
Additionally, he stated his belief in trusting the ONE matchmakers:
“Who do I want to fight next? It depends on ONE’s matchmakers because I’m not picky. But it would be great if I could face Haggerty.”

Kulabdam’s path to a title shot against Jonathan Haggerty
Despite Kulabdam’s impressive performance as a ONE bantamweight Muay Thai contender, many fans believe that Nico Carrillo should have a chance at a world title shot against Jonathan Haggerty before ‘Left Meteorite,’ regardless of the outcome at ONE Friday Fights 58.
In April 2023, Carrillo made his debut in the promotional circuit and swiftly rose to become a leading contender. He defeated both Furkan Karabag and Muangthai, securing a top spot in the division rankings in December 2023 after knocking out Nong-O in the second round and earning the title ‘King of the North’.
Despite the uncertainty of the future, Haggerty has an important task ahead of him in a highly-anticipated super-fight. On Sep. 6, he will defend his ONE featherweight Muay Thai title against Superlek at ONE 168, held at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
