The South Korean video game publisher Krafton has reported unprecedented earnings for the year 2024, establishing new records in sales and operating profits. Known widely for its flagship title, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Krafton also owns several successful studios including Bluehole and Unknown Worlds Entertainment, both of which have contributed significantly to the company’s financial achievements.
Founded in 2018, Krafton originally served as the parent company for Bluehole and has since evolved into one of the largest gaming companies in South Korea. The company has broadened its intellectual property (IP) portfolio to encompass notable games such as Subnautica and Hi-Fi Rush. The growth reported in 2024 sets the stage for future projects and initiatives anticipated in 2025.
According to financial reports prepared in accordance with Korean International Financial Reporting Standards, Krafton achieved a staggering total of over $2.7 trillion KRW (approximately $1.4 billion USD) in revenue, coupled with $1.2 trillion KRW (about $826 million USD) in operational profits for the year. These results represent a substantial increase of 42% in sales and 52% in operating profits year-over-year. Krafton attributes this success to the continuing resonance of the PUBG IP, particularly following its shift to a free-to-play model, which has bolstered player engagement. Furthermore, collaborations with various brands have played a significant role in driving sales, contributing to almost $1 trillion KRW ($688 million USD) from PC and console markets alone.

In a bid to leverage its financial achievements from 2024, Krafton is gearing up for a host of new projects in 2025. Upcoming game titles include inZOI, Dark and Darker Mobile, Subnautica 2, and an innovative multiplayer experience called Dinkum Together. Additionally, Krafton is set to expand its PUBG offerings further, including brand new titles and content related to this lucrative franchise.

This effort aligns with Krafton’s commitment to maintaining its competitive edge in the global gaming market. By utilizing its new earnings, the company aims to deliver fresh and engaging experiences for its dedicated player base.
Despite broader financial challenges facing the gaming industry, Krafton has successfully navigated these waters in 2024, and it remains optimistic about sustaining this upward trajectory through 2025.
