KPop Group HUNTR/X to Headline Performances at 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

The vibrant trio known as HUNTR/X, from Netflix’s acclaimed animated series KPop Demon Hunters, is set to make their daytime television debut at the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This much-anticipated event will be broadcasted on NBC and available for streaming on Peacock, scheduled for November 27 at 8:30 a.m. ET, catering to audiences in all time zones.

This highly publicized appearance not only showcases the talents of EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI but also reinforces the remarkable influence of KPop Demon Hunters within contemporary pop culture, having rapidly ascended to become Netflix’s most-watched title following its release.

Exciting Performer Lineup

This year’s parade features an impressive lineup of talented artists spanning various musical genres and generations. In addition to HUNTR/X, audiences will enjoy performances from the casts of several Broadway shows, including Buena Vista Social Club, Just in Time, and Ragtime.

Among the numerous artists gracing the stage are: Matteo Bocelli, Colbie Caillat, Callum Scott, Gavin DeGraw, Drew Baldridge, Debbie Gibson, Mickey Guyton, Christopher Jackson, Jewel, Meg Donelly, Mr. Fantasy, Foreigner, Lil Jon, Kool & the Gang, Busta Rhymes, Shaggy, Darlene Love, Roman Mejia, Taylor Momsen, Lauren Spencer Smith, Luísa Sonza, and Teyana Taylor. The iconic Radio City Rockettes, celebrating their 100th anniversary, will also contribute to the festivities.

Additionally, national and international performance groups are set to feature prominently, including the EVIDENCE Dance Company, Native Pride Productions, Circus Vazquez, and A Chorus Line: The Next Generation, under the guidance of creative director Baayork Lee. More than 1, 200 dancers and cheerleaders will infuse the atmosphere with holiday cheer as part of the Spirit of America Dance and Spirit of America Cheer initiatives.

This year’s parade will also spotlight an array of marching bands, such as the Panamanian Banda de Musica La Primavera and notable ensembles from states including California, Texas, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and New York.

New Balloons and Floats to Delight Audiences

This year will see the introduction of Derpy Tiger and Susie, characters from KPop Demon Hunters, featured as mid-sized balloons and a unique ‘balloonicle’ in the parade.

Four additional character balloons making their inaugural appearance will include favorites: Pac-Man, Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, Mario from Super Mario Brothers, and an onion carriage from DreamWorks’ Shrek, complemented by eight characters from the film.

On the float side, spectators can look forward to six newcomers, such as another Netflix favorite, Stranger Things with its ‘Upside Down Invasion’, ‘The Land of Ice & Wonder’ created by Holland America Line, ‘Brick-tastic Winter Mountain’ from The Lego Group, ‘Master Chocolatier Ballroom’ courtesy of Lindt, ‘Friends-giving in POPCITY’ by Pop Mart, and ‘The Counting Sheep’s Dream Generator’ presented by Serta.

Parade producer Will Cross, along with NBCUniversal’s Executive Vice President of Live and Events and Specials, Jen Neal, provided insights regarding the 99th edition of this beloved event.
