While some fans have cast Robyn as a central villain over the years, others have posited that Kody has been the true antagonist since the show’s inception. Despite my former belief that Robyn’s demeanor negatively impacted the family dynamic, it has become increasingly evident that Kody’s actions have consistently been at the core of these issues.

He is candid about his feelings, especially regarding his estranged relationships with his children. His offspring have been a painful topic for him, exacerbated by Robyn’s involvement during the pandemic, which complicated matters further.
While Robyn’s actions weren’t ideal, Kody’s passive approach, allowing her to influence his relationship with his children, is even more disheartening. He distanced himself from several kids who struggled to adhere to his unconventional rules, showing little willingness to reconnect later. This season of Sister Wives has revealed that Kody is hurt and frustrated about his family dynamics, yet he continues to absolve himself of any responsibility.

While Robyn’s self-centered tendencies pull her further from reality, they also expose her controlling nature. She has managed to sway Kody to her desires consistently, and when his children pushed against their family dynamics, she intentionally created significant divides. Although Kody has been influenced by Robyn, as an individual, he has a strong will and has chosen to distance himself from his loved ones, following her narrative.

My Perspective: Kody as the Greater Villain Compared to Robyn

While I previously regarded Robyn as the primary villain due to her manipulative tendencies, Kody’s actions this season have caused me to rethink this stance. Although Robyn’s schemes are more calculated, Kody’s true character has become evident as he openly admits to being selfish. He has signaled a willingness to sever his ties with his children if they do not prioritize him, emphasizing that his feelings take precedence over anyone else’s. Consequently, it is clear that Kody stands out as the real villain of Sister Wives.
