Knull in Venom 3: Meet the Actor Behind the Character

Scheduled for release on October 25, 2024, Venom 3, also known as Venom: The Last Dance, marks the concluding chapter of the Venom narrative. This installment not only wraps up the storyline but is set to introduce a formidable antagonist from the Marvel Comics universe—Knull, the god of symbiotes.

The much-anticipated introduction of Knull was hinted at in the final trailer for Venom 3, leading to rampant speculation that actor Norman Reedus would take on this new role. However, it has officially been announced that the talented English actor Andy Serkis will portray Knull instead of Reedus.

Andy Serkis, renowned for his performances as CGI characters, gained recognition through his work in the acclaimed Planet of the Apes trilogy. Notably, he directed Venom: Let There Be Carnage and has also played the villain Ulysses Klaue within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In Venom 3, Serkis joins a stellar cast featuring Tom Hardy, Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Stephen Graham, Rhys Ifans, and others.

Exploring Andy Serkis’ Career

Andy Serkis stands out as one of this generation’s most celebrated actors. After studying visual arts and theater at Lancaster University, he transitioned to acting, participating in smaller productions during his academic journey. With a background that included modules in visual graphics, Serkis began carving out his path as an actor during his undergraduate years.

His breakout role came when he portrayed Smeagol/Gollum in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, utilizing motion capture technology to bring the character to life. This performance sparked significant dialogue in Hollywood, with many critics advocating that Serkis deserved an Academy Award nomination for his exceptional embodiment of the role’s nuances.

Since then, Serkis has been a pioneer in motion capture performance, showcasing characters such as King Kong in the 2005 remake, Caesar in the Planet of the Apes reboot series, and Supreme Leader Snoke in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. He has also taken on various live-action roles, including Ian Brady in Longford and Ian Dury in Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.

Venom 3 is not Serkis’ first venture into the comic book world; he previously played Ulysses Klaue and Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman. While he may not be directing this installment, he retains an impactful role by embodying Knull.

Understanding Fuck in Venom 3

Within the Marvel Comics landscape, Knull is recognized as the God of Symbiotes and an Eldritch God of Darkness. He inhabits the realms between the sixth and seventh cosmoses, where his tranquility is disrupted by the Celestials, who wish to claim him as their ruler. Unwilling to submit, Knull wields the Necrosword, the first symbiote, to decapitate one of the Celestials.

What follows is a fierce conflict with the Light, establishing Knull as one of the most treacherous entities in the universe. However, when his Necrosword is taken from him, he finds himself stranded on an unfamiliar planet, where he experiments with his capabilities, learning to bond with lesser beings and eventually conquering worlds.

Fans eager to see Knull come to life on the big screen can catch Venom 3 in theaters on October 25.
