Kingdoms Quest Guide for Darkest Dungeon 2 – Overcome the Hunger of the Beast Clan

In Darkest Dungeon 2, the Kingdoms mode features three campaigns, beginning with the “Hunger of the Beast Clan.”This extensive quest takes players through various regions as they strive to protect Inns against Beastmen attacks. A vital component of your strategy involves upgrading Inns with powerful enhancements such as Veteran militia and Wainwright pets. New players will greatly benefit from some helpful tips to successfully navigate this challenging environment.

Your objective in the Kingdoms quest is to locate and deliver a series of items before the Day timer expires. If time runs out without having completed your deliveries and defeated the final boss, you risk your kingdom being overrun, which leads to a loss. The challenge lies in not only finding the required items but also knowing their respective delivery points.

You Are Now A Courier Service

After overcoming initial challenges at the campaign’s outset, players will acquire the Spyglass at the Inn. Equip this item to your Stagecoach and then search for a Watchtower in the subsequent region. Shortly after, the Handdrawn Map will be given to you, which must be delivered to the next Inn.

While selecting region nodes such as the Watchtower, it is not essential to focus exclusively on quest-related nodes. If you encounter a favorable option outside of the quest, prioritize it instead. Ensure you maintain steady progress to avoid falling behind in the quest.

Upon delivering the Handdrawn Map, you will receive the Ambulance Designation. With this addition to your Stagecoach, it becomes necessary to locate two Hospitals and two Hoarders. Each of these visits will reward you with 2 Healers and 2 Medical Supplies.

Take the four Healers and four Medical Supplies to a besieged Inn with your primary party. You can identify a besieged Inn by the large red skull icon above it. After successfully defeating the enemies there, you will acquire the Child’s Plea.

Although not imperative, utilizing Location Scouting items and/or Watchtowers can expedite your search for the essential locations.

After obtaining the Child’s Plea, visit a Field Hospital, recognizable by a medical plus symbol on your region map. Here, you will gain Pungent Offal. Equip this item to a team member, then trend to any Creature Den found on the region map marked by a tree symbol. Upon arrival, use the Pungent Offal against one of the Huntsmen during Round 2 of the battle.

After the confrontation, you will receive the Wounded Survivor. Deliver him to the Inn to receive the Survivor’s Tale, which must be utilized as an Inn item on your team. This will subsequently grant you Cold Storage.

The next challenge requires you to equip Cold Storage and secure victories in each main region during Escalation 2. If you require a recap, the five regions include Tundra, Tangle, Sprawl, Shroud, and Foetor. After you win in each region, you will collect five Mauled Body parts, culminating in a total of 15 parts. Be prepared to temporarily allocate 15 inventory slots to achieve this quest.

Once you have gathered all 15 parts, deliver them to any Inn. Following the triggering of Escalation 3, equip the four Rotting Dead items and win five road battles. Road battles occur midway between nodes such as Assistance Encounters and Hospitals. If you do not see these battles, it may be due to the requirement of Escalation 3.

After collecting a total of 20 Beast Hides from your road battles, your next trek will lead you to a Creature Den, specifically the Alpha Den. Defeating the Beastmen here rewards you with the Alpha Rot Claw’s Head trophy. Equip this trophy to progress to the newly unlocked boss location. Defeat this boss to successfully complete the Hunger of the Beast Clan Kingdoms Quest in Darkest Dungeon 2.
