Kingdom Come Deliverance II Unveils Major Update: Version 1.2
Warhorse Studios has rolled out a significant free update for Kingdom Come Deliverance II, marked as version 1.2. This latest update showcases two key features: native mod integration via Steam Workshop and the introduction of a barber NPC.
Enhanced Modding Capabilities
The new mod integration simplifies the process of downloading and installing mods, allowing players to access a wider array of modifications directly through Steam Workshop. As of now, there are four available mods:
- Free Saving: Offers an infinite saving feature by providing a Saviour Schnapps item each time one is used or lost.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Introduces a horned helmet for Henry to don during his adventures.
- Tourist: Eliminates NPC reactions to trespassing, unlocking access to various story locations that are typically restricted.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Revamps Henry’s horse, transforming it visually into a zebra.
It is anticipated that the modding community will rapidly expand, as over a thousand mods for Kingdom Come Deliverance II are currently available on the Nexus platform. While Steam Workshop may not reach the same volume, players can expect more mods to become accessible across both platforms in the near future.
New Barber Feature
Players can now visit barber NPCs located in Zhelejov and Kuttenberg to change Henry’s hairstyle and beard style. This visit also provides a temporary boost to Henry’s Charisma stat, enhancing gameplay dynamics.
Comprehensive Patch Notes
The 1.2 update extends far beyond the new mod and barber features. According to the detailed patch notes available on the game’s website, the update includes over a thousand fixes and improvements across virtually every aspect of the game. Key areas of enhancement encompass balancing adjustments, improved animations, and refined NPC behaviors, particularly in relation to the crime system, which has received more accurate mechanics.
Furthermore, daily NPC schedules have been optimized, along with advancements in horse riding and trading experiences, along with enhancements in character visuals and overall performance—especially within Kuttenberg, the largest city in Kingdom Come Deliverance II, and during significant battles.
Future of Kingdom Come Deliverance II
Warhorse Studios aims to elaborate on these updates during an upcoming developer stream scheduled for next Thursday. The commitment to ongoing development is clear, with plans laid out for three premium DLCs in the upcoming seasons of spring, summer, and winter as outlined in their 2025 roadmap. With two million copies sold in just two weeks, the Czech studio is keen to capitalize on this success and continue to enhance their acclaimed open-world role-playing game.
